Sounds like a power supply problem you will need to take it into a local repair shop

Probably the 16v Capacitors( the tops will be swollen) on the Power Supply board. Order new board and replace yourself ( pretty simple $80) or buy 24v caps at radioshack and replace- few bucks. Replaced on our 55" tv at work the other day.

The power supply circuit board has probably gone bad. Repair cost for an in home service call by the major players would be about 450$ plus tax usually with a 90 day guarantee.

not sure what is wrong with it. but a service charge just to come look at it is 80:00 dollars depending on the aera you live then when they check the tv they will tell you what is wrong and give you an estatment of the cost ( remember that is just an estatment)

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described it seems that you have to replace the convergence IC and check power resistor for leakage, if values are not exact you have to replace them. The typical cost to get this fixed by a pro is about $300 - and it doesn't mean that he/they will do a job better than you do. The parts are less than $100 (about $20-$30 for the IC's) if you want to do it yourself. Replacing only the IC's MAY solve the problem; however, many people have also had blown resistors requiring replacement. Why would you ask should you replace both of the IC's if only one is shot?! If one is shot the other one is not far away and for that little price of the chips it worth changing them both at the same time. Also the convergence board should be checked for cracked solder. If you replace the ICs and the resistors are shot, the ICs may blow again almost immediately, meaning you may have to do the repair twice. Do not take this the wrong way--I have seen several people make this kind of mistake--why on earth replace the board when you can buy the pair of chips for under 15 dollars?

At worst--there will be other than the chips a fuse on the board near them bad...

Look at the old board if you have it--this model should use STK-392-040 chips--I can tell you a seller who has them on EBAY---my point is these sets it is almost always better to just replace the chips and fuses if needed--

Do you have the old board? Can you return the new one for a refund?

I have repaired hundreds of sets with convergence problems and only a very few needed to have the board replaced.

I understand why this happens--people think it is easier to replace a board but they are wrong--it always costs more that way and presents problems.

Give me as much info as you can and those chips are readily available. I can tell you name of the seller I buy mine from--got several of the chips your set uses on hand right now.

You will have to change the bulb. The cost for someone to come out is expensive without a service plan, but you could order the bulb and then put it in yourself if you have the ability. Before you order a new bulb. check the power supply and the fan. The TV will shut itself off if it gets too hot or doesn't register the fan as working.

either the lamp is burned out or the ballast and power supply board need to be replaced. can call 1-800-samsung for nearest service center.

Replace 2 resistors on convergence board 2.7ohms and Both STK ICs if needed.
