Picture flickers in and out rapidly, gets blurry for about 5sec then looks like new for about 5sec then back again

Did you replaced 2 IC convergence as well or just 2 resitors 3.9 ohms ? if you did replaced 2 IC then you might have probelm in convergence drive it is1 of the PCB mount vertical on the left side from the rear view under part BP95-00415C you need to readjust the convergence by using your remote control just follow in the servive manual

Samsung hc-p4752w

Burned out? How? Depending on the age of the TV, there are two boards, possibly a third if it's a later model. The most likely culprit is the PWR & DEFL board - P/N BP94-01266a, and it's readily available for around $150, but before you order it, tell us more.....Do you have sound, etc.

Without sticking my neck out too far I think a component failed on yor tv initially and took out some over voltage protection in the process and what you are seeing and smelling is the result of whatever is being cooked alive. It does not mean there was a manufacturing fault with the tv as this has happened on other appliances as varied as can be. Please call out a competant technician and if you can help it dont switch it on again to avoid further damage to the unit and also to expose yourselves to the risk of fire or electric shock. Hope this was of some help.

Loud poping noise

It sounds like the popping noise you heard was a capacitor blowing its top somewhere in the tv. Sorry I cannot be more specific but if you manage to find out where this cap has gone also check any resistors near it as they can be also damaged. If you cant do this call out a competant technician. Good luck.

Hi there,

Thanks for your posting in FixYa.

I think the IC placed in it is not compatible. So you need to go for a repair shop to diagnose it thoroughly.

Dont forget to vote me. Have a Nice day.

Hc-p4752 black screen when powered on.

glad i could help ...now the black screen .. remove the back turn it on and look at the actual tubes
the base of the tubes should have a reddish glow if not the set isnt fully on look at the top of the tube if its on you should see a box or a dot etc
if both conditions above are true then you have damaged the stks you will need to replace them again
you can order from here $7.99 each http://www.electronix.com
remember to solder carefully stks do not take shorts well
if you dont see anything in the tubes you may have damaged the regulator too if you have a multimeter handy (and you know how to use it)while the set is running check (pins 15,18) for +28 volts {pins 16 ,17 and 19} for -28 volts if you dont get around those voltages you will be replacing the regulator too its probably an str (something or other) look around where the power cord plugs in for a big transistor looking thing..
good luck
