Have sound but no picture. Happened a few days

The ballast board controls the lamp. The wires from the bulb attach to the ballast board. That board is your problem.

TV powers on and the LAMP light blinks. There is

The main power supply regulator section circuit fault. Either it will be a separate board, or the part of main board. Check and replace damaged component/s at its main power regulator [SMPS] section circuit. Contact any service technician. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ It will be best to replace the power supply regulator board as card basis rather than making "Surgery" to it; which usually will make loss for both money and time. Even though you can make it right, it will cost around an amount equal to the cost of a new board; including the cost of (spare parts + service charge) More to say, most of the spare parts to it will be difficult to get from open electronic spare part market. This is true to most of the flat panel TV power supply boards; irrespective of its brand and screen size. Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Samsung HLR5667wx/xaa. Power surge took out tv. Replaced bulb and the bulb works, but tv wont come on and lamp light is flashing.

Hello, it sounds like the color wheel may have failed. Was there any noises, like a high pitch sound before it went out? If the color wheel isn't turning at proper speed, the set won't start up by shutting down the lamp protection circuit.

Samsung hl-r5667w DLP no picture,

Hello, are there any sounds coming from your television? If something happened to the colorwheel I dont think the TV would come on at all, I would by instinct take a look at replacing the DMD chip.

When turned off the tv makes a whining sound (not

The whining if it sounds like a mosquito type whine! it can be a capacitor, i have same issue, you can usually hear when u are on standby but if your hearing like a "wheel of fortune"! and slowing down would likely indicate it's a fan which is possibly covered in dust and the whining is the fan stopped trying to power forward or it slowly moving and slowing down. If you think it's the fan you should unplug your TV to avoid the fan burning out then have someone who knows what their doing take a look at than fan for you and clean the dust away from it, you may be able to get some access through vents in the side and can try your vacuum cleaner in those vents while TV is unplugged but i'd not go messing inside a TV without wearing some rubber gloves! Looks like the engineer would need to remove TV casing, check fan to see if it is blocked with dust or not, or if just failing for other reason then either clean or replace. If you don't get it done and the fan fails to cool the TV your risking other vital components overheating and breaking for good so best get it looked at, sounds like the fan to me...

My Samsung DLP HLR5667W went blank. Just before it went out, I was unable to control volume/mute. I replaced the lamp ($175 a Walt's ripoff shop) and the TV worked for four hours then died again

I would guess that it could be the main board going bad. Check all our connections and wiring. You should call places like Tri-State Module and they can probably send you a part or repair for way less than 500 bucks.

I have 6-8 inch horizontal shadow at the top of my HL-R5078W. How can I get rid of it?

A darkened band on this model is almost a certain bad optical light engine--not much else can even cause this.

Picture alinement dlp

Two thoughts for you.One is the set has to be level and supported evenly across the bottom--it will cause this kind of issue.Second is look to the DMD board/box where the wheel plugs in--some had 3 bolts to loosen and if so the box can be shifted to set the center position of the picture--not easy as up moves it down etc.Usually if replacing this wheel you will not have this issue unless that has been tampered--suspect that light engine may not be back correctly in place--check that if you did not tamper with the DMD.

Samsung TV will come on, sound comes on for a few seconds and stops. The picture changes sizes 3 times and the unit shuts off

Suspect number one is not fan, lamp or Color wheel--optical light engine with dmd is.
