I had the same error on my WF-3620 with CISS and the solution is simple: my ink cartridge cover is removed and the only way how printer can determine that the ink cartridge cover is not latched is when something prevents ink cartridge carriage from moving to the right edge. Load A3 size paper on the lower tray. Verify you see A3 as an option in paper setuo on the printer screen against tray 2. Make sure you have selected A3 on the software before you print. EPSON WORKFORCE A3 WF 7620DTWF

Are you setting the printer to A3 when you hit print? When you select print you will get a on screen box where you can change options and then confirm by clicking print. Most printers are set to default legal size.

I had a similar problem on my 3640 and had to run the clean cycle about 20 or so times. If you feel you are capable, you can also remove the print head and do a manual clean. YouTube has a few videos on how to do it. I have done this to one of my printers with very good success.

But let's try this: I have had similar issues with my MACs and HP printers, however I have often fixed the problem by re-installing the printer software and/or deleted the printer from the printer list in system preferences. If you have the Epson disc fine...if not, the OS should be able to "find" it for you via the internet. try re-installing the printer software. BUT you say that the scanner works via the computer. Have you tried shutting off the Epson and unplugging it from the A/C outlet and unplugging all cables? Leave the cables out for at least 30 seconds and try again. This is the procedure for a forced re-boot of many printers. Hopefully, this will help.

One FixYa answer was this: 0x9D is a stuck ink cartridge holder (carriage). Turn the printer off. Open the scanner to expose the carriage. When it moves to the left during post up stop it by pulling the power cable. Move the carriage it all the way to the left, close the scanner and then power it up. It should move freely now and work normally. BUT... the error is like the red (????) light on a car's dashboard...It could mean the above jam, paper jam, bad ink cartridge, a needed re-install of the epson software, a bad internet connection, bad phone line, etc... Lastly, it could mean junking the printer if it's out of warranty. You could opt to have epson fix it, but that's up to you.

Best solution: (Did today June 2015) Call Epson support, raise hell, tell them that this is ridiculous, that it is a flawed product with design defects, you must rely on a dependable printer, that this has cost you losses and you are about to change brand etc. They will send (Fedex) me a new one, and I do not need to return the defective one! I can keep it and use the behemoth as a paperweight. Or until next time the replacement fails, I can let my anger and frustration go....

Does the printer print other documents such as a word doc, letter or photo from your desktop? If it still does, then it's the attachment that is the culprit. Check to see if the attachment is an Adobe doc. If it is, you may have to initiate a print command usually found at the bottom of the window (mac) or within the doc itself (pc). Hi. I don't know if your printer is new or old or if this was the first time you replaced the cartridge or this has occurred after several changes. Most if not all printers will have this occur after replacing a cartridge if the ink had been depleted for some time and allowed to dry up in the jets. Sometimes all it takes is a day for this to happen. I have found that I must go through several cleaning cycles to clear the clogged jet(s). So, try doing a few cleaning cycles and see if that solves the problem. Another cause for a printer not printing after replacing a cartridge is surprisingly a FAULTY or remanufactured cartridge. There should be a program on your computer that displays the cartridge condition, cleaning procedure and ink levels. Give that a look over.

Using the pliers, pull the pad out of the printer and set it aside. Clean out the reservoir by pushing paper towels into it and letting them soak up the ink. Step4: Now you can replace the pad. You may also try cleaning the old pad by letting it soak in a large bowl of hot water then squeezing it out. Make sure it is completely dry before putting it back in the printer. My Epson XP-7100 would not print Avery labels no matter what settings I used for the paper, weight, format in the printer properties. So I used the PRINT function in Word and did "Microsoft Print to PDF". Then I used the resulting pdf and printed it onto the label sheet in my Epson XP-7100. Worked great. Does seem that if Epson printers can't print using the label file in Word, that at least Epson would put a work-around solution on their website. I had to figure this one out on my own. Although it is easy and relatively quick to do, I took a lot of time to come up with a way to print my Avery labels. Epson, get on the ball!
