Lines at bottom of screen on asus x83v
Your lcd screen is going bad or your video card inside the computer is
bad. To isolate the problem Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend,
relative or co-worker and connect it to the laptop. If the Borrowed
monitor displays ok then your video card is good and the lcd screen on
your laptop is bad. If the Borrowed monitor displays the same lines as
your lcd screen, then your video card inside the computer is bad.The video will show on most systems when you
reboot without you having to do anything. Some systems will require you to hit
the FN (Function key) + F1 thru F12. Hold down the FN key then hit the
correct key for displaying on the monitor (F1 thru F12). The correct key
will normally have CRT/LCD on it or it will have the icon of a display.
Laptop powers up but a
PLug the laptop into an external monitor to see if you get video to the external screen. You should have a vga port on your laptop, connect it to the laptop and then turn it on. If you see video the onboard video card on the laptop is fine and most likely you have a bad lcd. On the other hand if by "powers up and then goes to a blank screen" you mean its posting you see the asus splash screen and instaed of going into windows you see a blank screen. in that case you mos likely have a bad hard drive or corrupt operating system. You can test the hard drive by downloading dft and booting from that cd. here is a link to dft

I agree, it is most likely a bad driver. When you go into the device manager, do you see any exclamation marks in yellow triangles? That would indicate a hardware problem. If you go into the offending hardware component, there should be a button that says whether or not the device is working properly and also and update drive button. Try updating the drivers and see if that works. The webcam could be reinstalled using the disk that came with it. The driver may not be Windows 7 compatible so if you tell me the make and model, I could try to get an updated driver for you.
Let me know.
How do I enhance my Asus PadFone X mini speaker loudness?
Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. There is a free version. but to get all the effects you have to upgrade to the paid. If audio is important to you, check it out.
