You should be able to view the pictures on the card, or you could put the memory card in an external card reader connected to your computer. Before you connect a card reader or connect the camera to any computer, install the software belonging to the device, or you won't see a thing.

Go to the Samsung site with your camera connected and try to reinstall the software and update again.

Your memory card only installs one way and it's usually in a compartment by itself or in the same compartment as the battery/s. If you are doing it right, it goes in easily, without force. Wrist straps are also easy and almost all attach in the same manner. Both of these locations would be shown in a manual.

I'm assuming by "shutter" you're referring to the one inside the camera and not the cover blades on the very front of the lens. How old is the battery and do you use the camera a lot? Old batteries can be fully charged but can become weak and not hold that charge when the camera is powered on. The shutter issue could be part of this as the battery might not be strong enough to power the shutter. I think the batteries for these cameras are reasonably cheap so you could invest in a new one to see if that helps. An extra battery is always useful if you use the camera a lot.
