How do I increase the recording time on a Nikon Coolpixl830?
I do not own this camera. I will use common sense. Taking moves need lots of memory and lots of power. If you have a nearly full memory card or a weak battery your recording time will be limited. Taking movies in any camera runs the DSP (inside the camera) hard and fast. This causes excess heat. If the camera gets too hot it will stop taking movies. It is memory, power and temperature.
Nikon L830 won't take pictures and won't turn off. Lens just zooms in and out. What can I do to fix this?
remove the battery, to reset at least this state. When you did not drop the camera and there is no blockage on the lens barrel, it should come in the place it must be. Like inside the camera, when you switch it of and out, when you switch the camera on. When the sensor can't sense one of the states, it will "hunt" till the battery is empty. So please carefully check with your eyes, but also with your hand, f you can see or feel anything that blocked the free moving of the lens. When after reinserting the battery, the camera starts acting normal, problem solved, but when you can't find a cause for the zooming of the lens, I think you should contact a certified Nikon repair centre and ask them what a repair will cost you. Perhaps they even have a hit, although not very likely.
How do I adjust the flash
I assume you want to adjust the light output of your camera's built in flash. You cannot make any adjustments to the flash output on the L830. In fact, you cannot even adjust the built in flash on my $3,000 D800. All you can do is turn it on or off or set various modes that allow its built in flash to control other stand alone flash units such as the SB 910. You can manually control the flash output on stand alone units by instructing them to use fractional power outputs such as 1/2 or 1/4 power from either the camera menus on a Nikon SLR or the flash itself. The bottom line is that in order to control the flash, you need an external flash unit that costs more than your camera cost you.
How do I get my SD card to work with my Nikon?
Check to see that the write protect tab on the SD card is in the unlocked position. Hold the card so that the label is facing you with the angled corner to the top right. Look along the left edge and find the very small slider switch. Slide the switch up (down is locked and up is unlocked).
