Cub Cadet RZT s 42 When raising the deck, the left side hangs low. I have leveled the deck using the 'adjustment' but has no effect on the deck hanging low

Check to see that the arms that attach the deck to the frame of the mower are connected properly and a pins has not come out.

Ihavert42.zero turn pto will not work

Check PTO switch
check fuses
check safety switches on the mower.
Mid all good then you will probably need to replace the PTO clutch.
Check switches using a voltmeter

Why won't the blades shut off? The switch doesn't do it. The reverse direction no longer does it. When the key is turned, the blades turn with the starter. Very dangerous.

Sure is dangerous. Sounds like the clutch is stuck in engage mode.

Is there a filter or screen in the carburetor?

Remove fuel line from entry side of filter, after shutting off fuel. Turn the fuel on, see if there is fuel flow to the filter. If there is insufficient flow. There is trash blocking the discharge port in your fuel tank. If there is fuel flow at the entry of the filter, repeat the same steps for the outlet of the filter. if no flow replace the filter. if fuel flow is ok, you have a bad fuel pump or The fuel pump is powered by Vacuum you may have a loss of vacuum to the fuel pump.

How to fix?

Either the belt tension is off or one of the pulleys down there is not properly aligned and the belt falls off. Or maybe the belt has stretched and needs to be replaced.

HOW TO RESET THE BLINKING OIL LIGHT ON A CUB CADET RZT

The dashboard for Cub Cadet/MTD mowers includes hour meter, Low oil, or time for oil change, PTO, and other lights. If the oil light is flashing, it means 1 of 2 things. Low Oil Level, or it is time to perform maintenance by changing Oil and Filter. After this process, the light will reset itself after a few more hours of running.
