Something stuck in tension

You can contact the person you bought it from or contact the manufacturer they maybe able to let you know if you give them the make and model. You can also look at the papers that came with the item when you bought it. Hope this helps.

It needs to be clean with a service history and fully working with an owners manual.

The grease that is their may be thick. Get your hair dryer out and warm the total parts that rises and falls when you move your lever. Continue to move the lever while you're heating the parts. You should notice a big change. Try to clean off any old grease. After you do this use some good synthetic oil on the moving parts.

Stitch length is controlled by changing feed dog height. Make sure the feed dog selector is completely to the left (B) position. The feed dog mechanism may need cleaned and lubricated. See owners manual.

If electrically it is dead check the fuse. See owners manual

the pedal itself is a variable resistor so lets assume if you changed it that wasnt the problem. so dig deeper into where its plugged in and follow the wiring to find the problem

You may have to use the foot plate and see if there a tangle there too. Clean it out. Make sure your top tension is correct for the material and needle, Make sure both bobbin and top thread are the same. Hope this helps. Best regards.
