Unit will not power on... unit relay continuously
Thanks for using FixYa. From what
you have described it seems the issue is with the power board or the main board
and we’ll need to check few things. When you open the unit up; take a look at
the power board-the board where the power cords/plugs goes into. You might see
some filter capacitors a little bulged up in the top-If this is the case-this
is your defective part(you can try to replace them-but some soldering equipment
is needed). If not, then probably the main board has gone bad. This is the other
board-where all the inputs are going into. All this is only recommended if you
have electrical expertise and know how to solder/re-solder components. Please
note that the TV components consists high voltages even when in off position. Please
do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further

Is it connected to a cable box? Does it happen at any other time such as while watching a DVD or a tape? Possibly having the closed caption turnid on and the text mode selected might cause this. The cable box (if using one) maybe have closed captiones enabled on it that is causing the problem.

How do I troubleshoot my 1993 toshiba tv wont power pn
When it does not power up, just start checking the fuse. When you have a multimeter, you can check if the power still comes in the tv. Also go on to check if the on / of switch does work correct. But if you don't have electronic skills at all, please ask a technician, because inside the tv you can find lots of places where the high voltages can harm or even can kill you.
