hello donna!
looks like tv's picture tube is worn out. the tube is not focusing well anymore. changing picture tube is not common, because it is very expensive and i dont know either to get even one as spare part.
But a local service person can try to re-focus (adjust Flybacktransformator). this helps often to get better sharpness results. so might give you some more years to use it well.
PLEASE dont try to adjust by yourself - HIGH VOLTAGE - mortal danger!
hope to helped a bit - for any further help dont hesitate to contact me here under your topic.

Sounds like you have a horizontal timing error causing the mirrored image. It is fixable but would require the main board to be replaced. The part number is 23783078 but appears to be no longer available.

Toshiba CZ36V51... | Answered on Aug 28, 2010

This is likely due to a bad flyback transformer on the deflection power supply board, when changing this part also replace the horizontal output transistor as these two parts work in conjunction with each other.

Sounds like you have a "Dry Joint" or bad connection, or even a faulty power switch.. this is a fairly common one... try a switch replacement first? Or look for a bad joint on or around the switch connections.

There is a part insidethe TV that needs to be replaced; probably the main board. If the TV is under warranty—whetherthe original warranty from the manufacture or an extended warrantypurchased with the TV—call the company providing the warrantycoverage and they will arrange to have your TV repaired at little, orno cost to you.

If the TV is out ofwarranty, and you have the experience and you know what you're doing, you can fix the TV yourself. Purchase the service manual from themanufacture to get started. However, if you've never done anythinglike this type of repair before and you don't know where to start, Isuggest speaking with an experienced TV repair-person.

If you decide to pay forout of warranty repair by a professional repair shop, the total costwill likely be a minimum of $300 parts and labor. However, be warnedthat the cost could be considerably higher. A new 37" LCD from Walmart.com would cost you $468.

Since some brands willpay for your repair even if you're out of warranty, you shouldcontact the manufacture first for your full range of options. Ifthey're willing to fix the TV for free, let them!

I hope I've provided youuseful assistance and that this information allows you to make aninformed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure tovote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today!

Try unpluging the television for about fifteen minutes

Thanks for using FixYa. First check whether all the cables from your dishnetwork are fine and connected firmly. If yes then you'll need to pull off the front of the tv, behind the speaker grill there would be a panel. Remove the panel and check for a black box hanging over there. It has 6 controls on it, 3 are marked as focus and 3 as screen. You'll need to adjust the screen. If you turn these too high you can damage a tube. so we are doing real small adjustments. Turn the color off on the tv and adjust the red, blue & green controls up till you get a fine picture. Also adjust the focus until you get a clear picture.

And, if it doesn't resolve your issue then it is an intermittent picture tube issue, a bad driver transistor on the CRT board, a bad connection on the crt board, or a problem in the RGB coming from the video jungle IC. As the TV is quite old, the repairs will cost you around $200-250.

Note-- If you are doing these repairs yourself then please make sure to turn off and unplug the TV for at least 1 hour (this will drain off current from all components especially capacitors) before you perform any repairs. Also note that the TV consists of very high voltages even when it is in OFF condition.

Try to reset the TV by unplugging it for 8-10 hours.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

check your horonital output transistor could be defective.

I do not have that make and model. However:

Some remotes have to have a code set that matches the brand of the tv. Your remote should have come with a list of brands and codes.

Alternatively, the instructions for your remote should tell you how to determine which code to use.

No picture - screen is empty. Sound is ok
Check IC101 (BA7630F), if video signal comes to input (pin 1) but not present at output (pin 14) then replace this IC
No picture and sound, only a high pitch sound at switch on
Remove horizontal transistor and measure the resistance across any two pins. This value should be no less than 200ohms
Picture fades away few seconds after start-up till no picture. Sometimes no picture at all. Sometimes picture OK for longer. Sound unaffected.
Faulty joints on CRT pcb. Cracked solder joints at tube socket connections on CRT circuit board. Caused variable supply to CRT heaters. Resolder all socket pins to pcb.

sir, if you are not a technical person what i mean does not really repair like this equipmetns then it will not be easy for you to repair this. but ill give you an idea of what's wrong with your TV. Just cold solder or loosened solder on the vertical amplfier section. But if you can handle soldering and also dismantling the main board then you can just try to find the vertical amp section and look at those solders of parts around for loosened welds. just resolder it. be careful not to short any part or it cause major trouble and make your problem bigger. For a technical person, this trouble is a simple one.
