20 Most Recent Tamron 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 LD Lens for Minolta Maxxum - Page 3 Questions & Answers

Dust and other small debris is drawn into the lens due to the vacuum created when zooming in. You can reduce the chances of drawing in dust and debris by slowly zooming in as opposed to rapidly zooming in. Now that you how it gets in and how to help prevent it from getting in again, comes the bad news. There's really no way to disassemble the lens to clean it up at home. These are precision optics with many small moving parts that really need to be serviced in a dust free environment. You best bet it to contact Tamron (or authorized servicer) to learn how much it will cost to be cleaned by them. This will keep the warranty (if any) intact, too. Good luck!

As with almost all camera equipment and lenses I recommend that you do not, under any circumstances try to repair them yourself. Photographic equipment is very delicate and you could just make the problem worse.

The most comprehensive solution would be to contact Tamron itself and send it in for repair. If your product is under warranty you may only have to pay the shipping fees.

You can find Tamron's contact information here:

I hope this information was useful.

Please let me know when/if you get this problem solved.

The camera batteries require periodic repalcement. Verify from retail the most compartible batteries to be acquired to replace the older depleted malfucntion requirng dispossabel at which instance. However also, the lense once installed with new batteries should perform as required unless malfunct.

Hi. I had the same issue when I first got my D200 years ago and just happen to come across your post. It is a simple adjustment in your Bracket/Flash mode in your menu under e. Go to (Manual Mode Bracketing) and set it to (Flash Only) and then the F-Stop wont jump around on its own Hope this helps you out.

They're still readily available on places like eBay as both used and "new old stock". In the UK prices tend to be around £8 to £15.

Try gently cleaning the electronic contacts on the lens's mount with an eraser. This will remove any mild oxidation on the contacts. If this doesn't resolve the problem, then contact Tamron and ask if there are any issues using this particular lens with a Canon 40D.

Is this a Canon EOS 1053 camera? Do you have the old battery for this camera? All the details you need are usually listed on a sticker on the battery itself. It might begin with the letters LP.

Certainly, once you upload your photos to your computer. There probably was at least a rudimentary photo editing program that came with the camera. The gold standard for photo editing is Adobe Photoshop. Unfortunately you have to have a little gold to get it. http://www.adobe.com/ A free program is the GNU Image Manipulation Program:: GIMP: GIMP

once deleted, they are gone. unless you have a model that allows recovery, but, since you didn't tell us make, model and age - as well as how long ago you deleted the photos, it could be a problem to try to guide you on how to recover them.

This is not actually a camera query. However - have you run the head-cleaning / head adjustment utilities ?
