Make sure you are signed into the correct account on Amazon. If so, go to settings on the Fire and Register This Device to that account.

You may need to install updates since you factory reset and it is an older tablet. Check and see if there are updates available.

If pressing the power button on the side doesn't work, you may have to charge it first, then press the power button.

Most likely your memory is low or your battery is not fully charged. You can also reset it by holding the off button for 40 seconds, then press it again to reload. Download an app that cleans junk files from your Kindle.

On most tablets it means that the batter is charging or the device is plugged into a power source. Hope that helps!

1. On your Kindle Fire, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap Settings.

I have the same model and had not had that issue. None of the buttons work (hold each down for 10 seconds)

Put it in airplane mode and charge, turn off to charge, close all windows and apps. Try new charger, clean port and plug with alcohol. If none of those work check warranty

A HDX should charge from the wall in about 3-4 hours. IF you are charging it off a USB connection on a pc or laptop the charge time could be 17 hours or never if it's an old or rubbish pc or laptop. This is true for ANY device you are using, regardless of it being Amazon, Google, Windows or any other system. Tablets can last up to about 12 hours if you are passively reading a book on it with everything else turned off. They will run to empty in about an hour if you are playing a fun app that eats screen and memory. Perhaps reconsider what you want and what you want to do with your product before blaming the technology.

Clear all of your data on the browser via settings, reset to default if that doesn't work. Silk ain't the best, for sure.
