I have a Toshiba 27A f44 model TV with no remote and the remote that I do have is a universal remote but it's a one for all universal remote and I'm trying to figure out how to get it set up

Use code search on your One for All URC to find something that works. If a search through all codes stored in the URC fails, try a different one.

I've got a toshiba 46L5200U1, with a very dim screen. Tested power supply board and all correct voltages. Tested led board, 100v on the test point and 23v on the led test points, all of them. Are all the strips bad, or is the led controller bad? Thanks for any help you can give.

I haven't an answer for you - just wanted to make the observation; having voltage on a test point is no guarantee current is flowing through the circuit and for current to flow, at the other end of the circuit there must be a return, ground path or whatever. There is a trend these days for power to be supplied to one end of a circuit and the switching or control elements to be at the other end. Commercial circuits are devious and it takes a fair amount of skill to test them and obtain meaningful results. One problem a person has with testing a tv that is as much computer as tv, is many circuits have a level of intelligence for self protection - they sort of know if they aren't working right and can shut down. Modern thinking seems to be any lengths to prevent fire...

How can I record a 2 hour tape to a 8.5GB DVD +R DL on my Toshiba DVR620KU.

The Toshiba DVR620KU does not support dual-layer discs. See this page from ManualsLib, https://www.manualslib.com/manual/203807/Toshiba-Dvr620ku.html?page=9#manual . There is also a list of known compatible DVD discs for use with the recording function of the DVD rewriter/VCR on the next page. You should be able to dub a 2 hour (120 minute) tape to a DVD+R (4.7GB) disc. (I'll assume there is no copy protection on the tape.) Look at page 50 and 51 for the directions for dubbing. Page 50 is here https://www.manualslib.com/manual/203807/Toshiba-Dvr620ku.html?page=50#manual . You'll want to focus on the directions in the left column. Note the section about auto-tracking of the VCR tape. Make sure to correctly indicate that the VCR is the source. Then after dubbing, finalize your disc to watch it on other DVD players. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

My Toshiba model 49L621U lights up shows the logo then goes dark. Has audio and can see menu with flashlight test. Tried replacing the PK101W1230I Power Led Board and same problem persisted.

If this set has video board it may be the culprit. Some sets video board and control board are combined. So you may have to do some searching on google to find others who have had similar failure and solutions.

I'm trying to play movie files through my toshiba

You have not mentioned the TV model #.. If your TV does not play avi. files I am sorry to tell you it does not support moving pictures -- it only supports MP3 music files and JPEG picture files !!. Try these two to confirm.

Why does my Toshiba tv screen go from dark to light?

The TV's main culprits to be causing this problem are "dynamic contrast" which maybe darkening the backl light in dark scenes an example a night time or a dark scene in a movie. To make the blacks be deeper (as LCD/LED TV are rubbish at blacks) or brighten it on bright scenes to make the light be lighter and once again to make the blacks be deeper so the images pop out. Also "eco lighting" this will dim or brighten the image based on the amount of light in a room in order to be saving energy. Ether way the easy fix is to turn both of these features off. You will get rid of the problem and enjoy more subtler shades of colour that would otherwise be bleached (brightend) or crushed(darkend) out..

I have a Toshiba d-vr7kc2 vcr, brand new out of the box bought 10 years ago, used it 2 times to copy from vhs to cd. Now machine will not turn on with an old tape stuck in it.

The trouble with the video cassette recorder is it is full of rubber components - belts and wheels that don't age well, though it is doubtful that is the only problem. Capacitors too, often don't age well, especially if the unit could have been subjected to high summer temperatures or freezing winter temperatures but again that probably wouldn't render the machine completely unresponsive. It should be possible to remove the top cover of a front loader and turn the mechanism by hand to remove the tape but putting it back into working order should be left to a professional. There is often an internal fuse and it could be worth checking that...

Hi I have a Toshiba Regza 42zu650u which keep turn it self on and off.The power light is blinking green and was hookup to my directv cable box..Any suggestion was maybe the culprit. Power supply main

Those blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. https://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Blinking codes details to many popular brand TVs are given. Surf the site with patience. If blinks continue without any pause, the main board is faulty.

Backlight issue! It is either the led backlights blown or T-con board! Further testing needed to determine which.
