This is a reach, but is the button pusher , the plastic piece that pushes the tact switch worn down and not actuating the switch? Have you tried a ceramic driver with the case open and actuating the physical switch instead of the button on the case to verify. My razer mouse had the same issue , it took me a week poking around to realize the button pusher was worn. Super glued a piece of rubber to the worn pusher and its working fine to this day
