Aiwa NSX-DS55 CD Shelf System - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
AIWA NSX-A555 Disc player/changer won't work.
dirty/dusty lens, try a lens cleaning disc... or remove the casing and gently clean the lens with a cotton bud and some alcohol (surgical spirit, window cleaner, Whiskey or Vodka also worked for me).
i hope this helps, please don't forget to vote on your answers to help keep the site free.

did you check on speaker wires? Red is +Positive, Black is -Negatives....
Awia Stereo shuts off when volume is at 25+
That's the system's way of protecting itself from a burnout *(like a fuse). If you are not using the system's recommended speakers, this will continue to happen. So, I'd highly recommend that you do some research, look for the manual, and get the correct speaker ratings. You might have to custom build your boxes, but, it will sure stop that problem.

I'm sorry but I don't have a listing for that model number. Many of hte Aiwa units use what is called a digital encoder. A call to Sony with the model number should get you the part number as well as the cost and availability. Aiwa is a brand of Sony.

Same model, same problem. (CX NA-50) I have one that worked great for two years (at best) and I haven't used it since then. I recently decided to look for a solution via the internet.
I read somewhere else that there was a class action settlement with aiwa (now expired) since many of these units had this problem.
Aiwa nex-d555 i can not
Wanna run that model by us again? "NEX-D555"? Can't play fast and loose with alpha-numeric info. I don't suppose you have the manual either.
Whatever it is try a search engine for "(exact model) manual".
Pressing the POWER/STANDBY/ON control would be one way to turn it on.
My Aiwa cx-nma545 keeps turning off.
Your system is in 'Eco' mode. If you are in this mode, and go 10 minutes without playing a CD or cassette, it will automatically turn itself off.
Here's how you get out of 'Eco' mode:
1) Go to the jog wheel assembly
2) Press 'Eco'
3) Press 'Enter'
4) The display will show "Eco Mode On"
5) Immediately turn the jog wheel, to turn the status from 'On' to 'Off'
Hi i have a aiwa
Sounds like the laser pickup is faulty. This is usually very costly to repair.
Search the internet for aiwa repair center closest to you.
Why do my speakers pop and the system turns off?
sounds like it is going into protection mode, but you have supplied very little info as to why it does this, does it do this staight after turning the unit on?, was the unit driven to loud for a long period? or the power supply may be faulty which is probably the best solution, what sort of system is it?
Audio volume is weak from left channel but good
More likley that there is a fault in either the pre-amp or power amp of the left channel. To be honest with you it's one of the most diffcult problems you can have, unless you can see a burnt or damaged part. All you can do is compare the parts in the right channel with those in the left.
Touching the parts in either channel with a screwdriver (don't short any) will cause a buzz! This can be used to test the channels. Work backwards from the power amp section. Remember a buzz in the right should give you one in the same place on the left!
PS KEEP AWAY FROM THE POWER SUPPLY.
If you are not good with electronics consult someone who is.
I have an Aiwa cx-nma545 that I just hooked up to
On most TV's with speaker control there's a way to disable the TV's volume control effect on the level fed out to an external amplifier. Find it and disable it it or select FIXED for its level, or, while listening through the Aiwa, raise the TV's volume through its own remote and see if that affects what the Aiwa gets for volume.
Or, enable the TV's speakers but find the same interna lAudio setting and make it Fixed, but turn the TV volume down if you don't want to hear its speakers. That way, you could actually listen to the TV on its own speakers if you want, say, for casual watching of the Weather Channel or news, for example.
The standy light comes on put no power whats the
Sounds like the power supply is shot. You can buy a new power supply, but that would require pro level re-wiring inside the stereo. I'd get a new one, aiwa doesn't make good stereo's anyways. Go with pioneer
