Oreck Cordless Speed JP8100CA Iron Questions & Answers
My oreck cord-free is a
Good news and bad news.
The good news is I found a website with your iron model and the parts, however, the bad news is that the manufacturer decided to discontinue the base the part that heats up your iron. But, if you would like to purchase another one, eBay and Amazon have some great deals. Just in case you want to contact the website I previously mentioned the # is 877-346-4811. Or you can go to ReplacementParts.com. I hope that you find what you're looking for.
My cord/cordless iron is spitting water when using
Hi there.
All irons will spit or leak water after a while when their innards get clogged with water mineral deposits. Clean the reservoir of your iron, pour a solution that is one part
vinegar to one part water in. Turn the iron on. Allow it to steam for
about four minutes. Drain the iron for an hour, and be sure to repeat
the process with clean water before you iron any clothing items.
Hope this helps.
Thank you for using Fixya!
When I plugged iron in
Hi,
If you've had this iron for a while it sounds like the cord may be frayed.
switch it off at the wall and unplug it, check the cord for wear, if the insulation is frayed, torn or broken and there are black burn marks on the cord where you saw sparks then the cord needs to be replaced.
DONT plug the iron back in until the cord is replaced.
Otherwise If there are no breaks or black burn marks on the cord, then your power point may be faulty and needs to be replaced!
I hope this was helpful

My Oreck Cordless iron stopped
Check and test this possible fault:
- Blown fuse
- Faulty or broken thermostat
- Broken power cords
- Broken heating elements
Hope helps.
It doesnt charge up when
Check the voltage on the contacts of the base docking unit. If there is loss of contact then the iron will not heat up. secondly check the continuity of the coil within the iron as as open line or a failure of thermostat can also prove to be the fault.
I have been ironing for
its the thermostatic switch packed up,,,change the switch,,,,and lucky you,,,,im freezing at -2f
I have described my problem repeatedly. Again -
Ok whenever an iron stops heating it is either the Thermal Fuse,or the Element or the actual temperature control. One would have to use a meter to check the Voltage at the element of the iron. & Test the Thermal Fuse.
Also though with Cordless irons it may simply be that your batteries aren't working as they should. They can quickly be ruined if not charged correctly.
I do NOT think, that this is a job for a home repair due to the added complexity that the batteries add.
You need to take it to a professional repair center and ask for a "Quote" before allowing any repairs to proceed. As the cost of repair may exceed the cost of a new one.

My iron will not heat
try opening the iron and see if the wires are connected to the thermostat/heating element, if not you can easily tie them again, it sometimes happens when the thermostat fails to open the circuit and the heating elements over heat and causes a break in the line or heating element.
