Hi, If you mean clipping on/off to be cutting out, then there are a few causes for this.
1) overloading the output circuits.
2) speaker wires shorting to earth/each other.

Try running 1 set of speakers at a time.

P.S. giving us a little more information will help profusely i.e amplifier capabilities, how you have the speakers connected. etc.

The WAIT is because wrong security codes have been entered previous.

To reset, leave SWITCHED ON....UNDISTURBED for as long as it takes to automatically reset itself.

It may take many hours (as the waiting time depends on how many wrong codes have been entered).....normally though it is only an hour or two.

If your deck is aftermarket; Does it have a dedicated Subwoofer output? if so, check the control in the deck (sub gain). If you are using a factory radio, and a high to low level adapter (speaker wires to RCA), it may be bad (not too uncommon) or check your fader front/rear any difference? Otherwise, you have one of two problems. A bad preamp in the deck or a bad pre amp in the amp. Both are fairly uncommon. More than likely it's a setting. Hope this helps

Hello yte1771,

You can download the manual from Crutchfield.

The "CUR" display is an indication of excessive current and is most likely caused by too low impedance or a fault in the wiring or the amp itself. It's probably not your cap.

Hope this helps.

Hello, First of all with these new Alpine amps everithing adjustable just about is digital, as well as the internal workings of the amp to a point. If you bought this amp new then check your warranty or take it back where you purchased it if you can. Check that your amp is getting an input signal from your head unit. Check your head unit sub output settings, something could have gotten turned off or down. On this paticular amp if there is a problem internaly it would let you know or go into protection mode. You say your sub has ben tested and is good, check again. Hook another speaker up to the amp. Unhook that speaker and try, you never know. Like I said, if the amp is'nt going into protect mode and the digital display is'nt telling you any types of faults then it has to be the input signal. Make sure you are getting a signal. That has to be your problem otherwise amp would be in protect mode. Let me know what you find.

The amplifier probably has shorted output transistors. If the amp gives the same error message with the speaker wires disconnected from the amp, the amp needs to be repaired.
