First thing to check is the power supply. If you were having to push the power switch several times to get it to turn on before this, it is almost certain to be the power supply. If it is a new build, then try removing the motherboard from the case and rest it on a towel or some good insulator and try powering it on with just the cpu, heatsink and ram.

Start > Run > type devmgmt.msc. This will load Device Manager (or load from Control Panel). Find Sound, video, and game controller, and expand. Right click on device (it might have an error icon) and install / update driver.

This will give control to the best controller for the device. That is why it is called a "Root controller."

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it

Via usually only make the chipset - not the motherboard. Find the manufacturers model number printed on the motherboard then go to the website and download the manual.

Maybe it's usb2 and your motherboard is only good for usb1, or something like that. Have someone try the board in another computer. If there are any boards your computer doesn't need anymore, like a modem or something, take them out. That will free up addresses and you won't have conflicts. Remember, your usb will replace a lot of serial and parallel stuff.

Couple of things you have to do...first, flash the bios with EPIA0207.BIN (using awdflash.exe). Likely you're going to have to pull that drive and reformat it, there's a great in-depth tutorial here (includes where to get the files): http://eurowonka.blogspot.com/2009/03/reclaiming-my-mirra.html

I noticed that after flashing the BIOS I had to pull the CMOS battery, move the jumper on J10 to 2-3(check the corresponding manual for your board), let that sit for about 5-10 seconds, move the jumper back to 1-2 on J10, and replace the CMOS battery. As soon as all of that was done...I was in, no password required.
