If your gaskets are bad, the machine will not rotate. Can you move it by hand? If not then have you checked the gasket in the back of machine that comes in contact with the hand wheel? If it is making contact, this is what runs the machine and both the little black gasket and the hand wheel will spin when you rotate by hand. If the hand wheel is free spinning then it may need oiled. If you have a manual, try oiling the complete machine according to manual.

In a sewing maching, for the thread not to bunch up, there are two thread tension tighteners. One each for the bottom and the top threads. The top thread tensioner is a nut that tightens or loosens the thread tension. The thread passes under this nut. While for the bottom thread it is two screws on the casing for the bobbin. These two screws hold a small strip of metal to the casing and the thread passes under this strip.

To be able to get proper tension on both the threads you have to strike a balance on both the top and the bottom threads. If the difference is not much then you can do with varying only one of them, usually the top one for ease of functioning.

Since you say that the thread is bunching uo on the bobbin side, ie, the bottom, means that the top thread is too tight and must be loosened. You cant do it in the first go. It may take you a few attempts to get it correct, so do not loose heart if it is taking time.

All the best.

This may seem like a stupid answer but did you push in the knob. If you were winding bobbins last time you used it you may have forgotten to re-engage the clutch.

I think it has been discontinued. I don't believe it was a very expensive machine to begin with.
If you have one and are looking to resell it you may want to call a sewing machine repair shop in your area, and see if they will buy it off you or if they know where you can sell it. Try checking on ebay to see how much similar models have sold for.

Most of the time it is caused by the top threading, Could your thread be old, or tangled? Double check your threading by this little trick, put your tension dial on 3, totally rethread, insert a new needle (flat side facing rear). Then with the presser foot up, pull on the top thead and it should pull smoothly, now put the presser foot down, pull again, it should barely move. This usually seats the thread in the tension discs. Hope this helps.

I have the same machine. Have you tried adjusting the bobbin tension? Use a small screw driver to tighten or loosen the screw on the bobbin case.

It is usually the opposite of what you think, check your bobbin area and make sure that it is in correctly. Also, check your needle, if in doubt, change it.

Try a new needle and make sure that you have a long enough tail to hold when you lower your needle to pick up the thread
