Apex pf2725 has red M

Hello
To over ride the V-Chip control code and to reset your tV to its factory settings, do the following.

Apex TVs use a four digit code to control the v-chip. The override code for many models is 6688. Other sets may not have one, or may have a default code of 1225 instead of an override code.

1. To use the override code:

2. Hit the MENU key to get to the menus.

3. Go down to the SYSTEM menu and hit the right arrow on the remote control.

4. Once in the SYSTEM menu, go to PARENTAL GUIDE. It will ask for your code.

5. Enter the override code listed above. From here, you can turn on and off different rating restrictions, as well as set a new code. No matter what the V-chip code is set to, the override code will still work. If you have a blank screen with a red key on the bottom left, simply press the (function or F) button and the mute button at the same time. This will unlock the screen and allow you to view the channel as desired NB: You may have its original remote remote control handset to do this. In rare cases, some universal remote handset also will work with. OK.

You have to enter its service mode option to reset it into factory defaults. If you wish to know, how to enter and exit service mode, check the site linked here. It has details. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up previous posts there, either by type in the model name to your set in its search box, or view it in Mosaic /Timeslide option.

Hook up to laptop

It looks like this TV only has old style inputs, in other words, no hdmi and no vga. If your laptop is older and has a s-video output you can purchase a S-Video cable to plugin to the laptop and to the tv. Put the TV on that input, then on the laptop, there is usually 2 buttons you have to look for, fn (usually int he lower left of the keyboard) and the crt/lcd button, usually shared with one of the f keys at the top of the keyboard and even more usually shared with f8 - so, if it is on f8, you would hold fn and press f8 several times until you get the display on the screen.
If your laptop does not have s-video output you could purchase a vga to composite converter and hook it up to the laptop and then to the TV, then use the aforementioned fn+f8 9or whichever has the crt/lcd label on it as well.
Hard to perfectly answer as you haven't provided the model of your laptop, but this should point you in the right direction.

Can't see scrolling text or sport scores

Here's how to fix it - I have a PF 2425, and it's driven me absolutely up the wall. Videogames are useless because you can't even see the crucial gauges etc. Likewise, subtitles and credits in films are cut off. it's ridiculous, especially considering how easy it is to fix (if you know how).

1. Decrease volume to 0.
2. Press MUTE so the tv says "MUTE" onscreen.
3. Hold MUTE on the REMOTE and MENU on the TV simultaneously until the service menu appears.

It's important not to screw around here too much. Use your arrows on the remote to navigate, the first option likely will say "MENU.0" or something like that. Use that to flip through the pages. What you're looking for are values like V Zoom, V Scroll, etc. Same goes with the H values. Toy with these a little and you'll be able to get the tv scanning perfectly.

I can confirm this worked for me! So good luck.

My apex pf2725 tv screen is green

Hi,

Your posted/describe symptom seems to be that the green color drive is defective. The "lines going across" are flyback retrace lines brought about by the safe problem.

The corrective procedure would be to replace. In most TV units, color drive are three (3) identical transistors: for the blue, green and red. They are normally located at a small squarish PCB attached to pins of the CRT right at the rear end of the neck. More often, they are heatsinked. Repair should be a straightforward desoldering the defective component and replacing with a new one.

In some versions, color drive is a single IC power pack.

Still, it is also possible that the problem may be due to cold solder on any or all of the pins of the above describe transistor (or IC).

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

I need to know how to change modes without controller when I'm using a dvd

Without a remote controller, you may have limited options to change modes on your Apex digital TV. However, you may be able to change the mode by using the buttons on the TV itself. Here are some general steps you can try:
  1. Turn on your TV and make sure your DVD player is connected to it.
  2. Look for the "Menu" button on the TV and press it.
  3. Navigate through the menu options using the arrow buttons on the TV until you find "Input" or "Source."
  4. Press the "Enter" button to select the input/source option.
  5. Use the arrow buttons to select the input/source that corresponds to your DVD player.
  6. Press the "Enter" button to confirm the selection.
  7. Press the "Menu" button to exit the menu.
Note that the specific steps may vary depending on the model of your Apex TV. You may also consult the user manual for your TV for more information on changing modes without a remote controller.
