Krups 65475 WaffleChef Waffle Maker Questions & Answers
I bought a Krups Household Type Waffle Maker at a
I think this is why people make pancakes. =) Cleaning the waffle iron is a real pain. My waffle maker looks exactly like the one you have pictured. Mine also came with no instructions because its my fiance's. As far as how much batter to use, you should use a ladle and through trial and error figure out how much is the best amount. I would guesstimate approximately 1/4 c. For cleaning the overspill, from what I have read online, everyone says to unplug the iron (obviously) and wait until the waffle iron has completely cooled before cleaning. I have cleaned the back of the unit (where the coils are, which unfortunately got flooded with batter the first time) with a damp kitchen brush, damp sponge, and paper towels. Its messy and time consuming to clean up. You can get in the coils better with an old toothbrush or a very small bottle cleaner (like the kind you would buy to clean cake decorator tips). I just use warm water to remove the batter/gunk. I use a sponge (damp with warm water) to clean the baking plates. I towel dry everything after its clean, and clean the outside with a little windex so it stays nice and shiny. Good luck! I also recommend making lots of extra waffles and freezing them, so you can avoid as much waffle clean-up as possible. ;) You can heat them up in the toaster like Eggos. They stay good in the freezer for up to 6 months.
I don't know when my waffle is done
it will have a warning signal on it,,,,,its called smoke?
even flames if its realy desprate!!!
the thing is its cooking,,, and thats not an exact sciences, so realy you just lift the lid to have a look, just like you test a cake, stab it with a knife? and flick it with your finger,, if it rings its cooked
How do you know when it is done cooking?
Usually there is steam rising from the waffle maker when cooking, if there is no light on it to tell you when it is done watch the seam and as it is getting done there will be less steam than when it first started, if there is a light watch when it goes off or when the steam stops and then count minutes to when you open it to see how browned toasted you prefer
Dead krups waffle iron
That is probably a thermal fuse. It is designed to open and stop heaters from working incase of over heat condition.
Meaning if you did not leave the appliance on too long with nothiung in it, the thermostat may be not opening at correct temp or the fuse was in a place where it got over heated or the fuse was weak.
You can replace it 1 time see if it worked ok but if it goes out again and you didn't see anything this time best replace it. Especially if under $50.00. Thermostat will probably run 1/2 of that. Thermal fuse 3 to 10. Try a heating AC parts store and take the old party with you.
If this helps you please help me by rating me as high as you can. Thanks for using fix ya.
Krups Blender 577 replacement of rubber coupling
Krups Blender 577 - first try it not easy but next time it will be.
Replacing the rubber coubling is extremely difficult with this model.
After almost destroying the air in/outtake grill on the side in pursuit of a good lock of the axe, I tried so hard to use a nose plier to grab the post and unscrew the coupling counter-clockwise but it just didn't fit (it needs to be long and narrow/needle like). So I ended up cutting off rubber on the coupling and also cutting of plastic from the black plastic cover which is just under the rubber coupling. In the end I was able to cut that plastic and remove it so that I could actually take off the whole casing (you need a torx 20 with a hole in it to unsrew the 4 bits at the bottom underneath the rubber stands) with the rubber coupling still attached and detach two power cables so that I had much more space to properly grab the post and then it was very very easy to unscrew it counter-clockwise. But up until then I lost my insanity twice :-).
Now I know how to so the next time will be easier.
I just bought a rice cooker at a garage sale. It had no instruction manual
To make rice, remove the trivet if you have one as this is only for steaming food.
Wash rice to get rid of excess starch and put in pan. Then add the same amount of water as rice (2 cups water to 2 cups rice etc.) then shut lid and switch on and leave it.
Once it has switched off do not open the lid for a further 20 minutes (the machine will keep the rice warm do not worry) Stir rice and serve. Most rice cookers will keep the rice warm for a couple of hours.
If you find the rice is a bit dry then add a little bit more water, the amount of water really depends on the quality of rice used.
