My Krups model 288 toaster won't always latch down.

You can fix this yourself by following these instructions. Unplug your toaster before proceeding!... Clean the toaster first. Turn the toaster upside-down and shake out the crumbs. Remove and clean the bottom crumb tray. 1. Unscrew the four Phillips head screws located in the corners of the bottom base. Remove the screws completely if possible. Do this over a cloth or newspaper - that way a stuck screw won't get lost if it falls out later. 2. With the toaster right-side up, pull off the wide toast lever knob. Do not remove the round adjustment knob (it will not come off from the outside) but make a mental note of what number (1-7) is showing at the knob's adjustment mark. 3. Carefully pry up the end of the case cover with the knob on it (don't pull on the "stop" button). When the knob's plastic shaft is clear of the circuit board, gently pull off the cover. 4. On the inner part of the circuit board you will see a black plastic "cam" surrounded by two sets of electrical contacts. Rotate the cam to open the contact points if necessary. Insert a thin nail file between the points and rotate the cam to trap the file between them, then scrub back and forth several times to clean the contact points. Do this for each contact on both sides of the cam. When finished, rotate the cam clockwise so it is all the way back down to it's original position. 5. To make re-assembly easier, remove the round adjustment knob from the cover by depressing the half-round shaft flanges inside the cover with your fingernails. 6. Re-assemble the toaster by reversing steps 1 & 2. Replace the knobs, making sure that the round one is in the same position you noted earlier before you push it all the way down.

Problem with jaipan toaster

the release mechanism contains a bimetallic strip that snaps open when a certain amount of power goes through it based on the setting. When cold, it should trap the toast loading lever mechanism. If not, it may be broken or bent. Don't work on it with power applied

Krups Blender 577 replacement of rubber coupling

Krups Blender 577 - first try it not easy but next time it will be. Replacing the rubber coubling is extremely difficult with this model. After almost destroying the air in/outtake grill on the side in pursuit of a good lock of the axe, I tried so hard to use a nose plier to grab the post and unscrew the coupling counter-clockwise but it just didn't fit (it needs to be long and narrow/needle like). So I ended up cutting off rubber on the coupling and also cutting of plastic from the black plastic cover which is just under the rubber coupling. In the end I was able to cut that plastic and remove it so that I could actually take off the whole casing (you need a torx 20 with a hole in it to unsrew the 4 bits at the bottom underneath the rubber stands) with the rubber coupling still attached and detach two power cables so that I had much more space to properly grab the post and then it was very very easy to unscrew it counter-clockwise. But up until then I lost my insanity twice :-). Now I know how to so the next time will be easier.

Thoroughly clean it then try a little bit of oil.

KRUPS KJ502D51 Stainless Steel Triple Basket Deep Fryer ********** Just bought used . Has error 2 on display

Here is the manual in case you do not have it:. Scroll down until you find "Documentation" and then download the instructions. http://www.krupsusa.com/KITCHEN-APPLIANCES/DEEP-FRYERS/4-5L-Deep-Fryer-with-3-Baskets-KJ502D51/p/8000035750 As far as the error code goes, Krups does not list anything. However, there is a reset button on this unit (see the manual), it may need deep cleaning, OR the internal battery needs to be replaced. If none of that works contact Krups (number inside the manual or on the website) customer support and see what they say.

I just bought a rice cooker at a garage sale. It had no instruction manual

To make rice, remove the trivet if you have one as this is only for steaming food. Wash rice to get rid of excess starch and put in pan. Then add the same amount of water as rice (2 cups water to 2 cups rice etc.) then shut lid and switch on and leave it. Once it has switched off do not open the lid for a further 20 minutes (the machine will keep the rice warm do not worry) Stir rice and serve. Most rice cookers will keep the rice warm for a couple of hours. If you find the rice is a bit dry then add a little bit more water, the amount of water really depends on the quality of rice used.
