What are the black flakes that continue to show up in the hot water side of my cuisinart chw12

Most likely the heater is breaking down or may have over heated and the flakes are the corrosion breaking off on the heater itself.

Paint is peeling on the base of the heat plate

Contact the manufacturer.

The hot water side of maker works but the side that brews won't turn on or let us set clock etc. We have unplugged maker and remove basket and still does not work

Auto off shuts off as soon as soon as the cycle is finished even though it si set to stay on for 4 hours

My chw-12 maker brewed a full pot sucessfully,then died. cannot get power on,nothing. However th hot water dispenser works well

My CHW-12 Cuisinart Coffeemaker will not brew in Auto Mode when set for over night. Programmed for 6 AM and when I get up 30 to 45 minutes later it has not started. Rest of coffeemaker works fine.
