I have an SR7005 that has a problem with no more video coming out (blank screen), but the sound works perfectly. Does anyone know of a company or person that repairs the board?

If you are watching adverts that implies a broadcast TV sound signal. What happens is that the broadcaster will switch off sound especially Dolby signals during add breaks. Therefore it could be your TV that stops sending the sound to the Marantz. So check the sound settings of you TV. It might have an auto feature that detects the signals, that could be switched to manual or just a wrong sound signal that causes the problem.

HelloThe power amplifier section of your Marantz has damaged. There is a possibility that the speakers that was connected to thes amp sections alos may have got damged. If you want to repair it by yoursef, you need its service book; not the user manual. This could be caused by a direct short circuit on the speaker outputs. Try disconnecting all the speaker connections at the back of the receiver and then power back on. You can also try a factory reset by holding the surround mode + clear button for 3 seconds.

Whatever video components you have, they should be, depending on inputs on TV, should be run to TV first. Recievers do have pass through ports but, are not the best way to achieve picture and sound. HDMI cables are great but you r reciever may not be able to transfer the video. What I suggest is taht you run your componenets, cable/sat box, DVD, etc. via HDMI, componenet, etc., to TV input, then, run audio out from TV, via(best) digital optical. You can use TV's menu to choose what you watch while, you only have the one input to reciever. Scan your recievers menu to make sure you have selected the proper mode(TV, Aux, Vid2, etc.).. If you run your video unit to TV with component cables, you will have to get your sound through separate cable(s). Component cables have graet video, but do not carry the sound.

It takes two, maybe more to tango - plus the cables that carry the various signals.

Can you define the signal loss better? Where do you detect it?

It sounds like you've read one of my many posts on 901 deployment in the AV world.

Functionally, what is the difference between one amp with 'x' channels or 'x' mono amps? Nothing. Pre-outs don't know or care what else an external amp does.

According to this link http://www.ecoustics.com/electronics/products/new/642968.html those amps are 2- and 5-channel, respectively.

There was a time when I had two bridged-mono Carver Cube atmps (at a real 400 watts) pushing one 901 each but that was big time overkill.

I now use a Carver AV-406 (functionally the same as your MM7055) with the 901 EQ in between the AV Receiver's front pre-outs and two 110-watt channels. Other channels on the AV-406 pull subwoofer and surround back duties. My AVR directly powers only the center and surround speakers.

The MM7025 would work for you.

CD/DVD players use a protocol; Open tray. Insert disk. Tray switch tells mechacon that the tray is shut. Attempt to focus on disk. If focus is acheived, then it will spin up and try to read the disk otherwise it will ask for a readable disk. If the tray keeps opening, I would suspect the tray detect switch is malfunctioning, maybe the drive belt has stretched.
