Manually breaking the power connection should resolve the issue.
This is what I did when my GoGear VIBE 4GB froze up:

Carefully peel up the UPC code strip on back of player. (There is a tiny screw underneath it)
Carefully remove screw. (The snap notches are 'L' shaped inside the edges of the case).
Gently slide/pry open the backside of the case, taking care NOT to break the snap notches.
Open case, REMOVE BATTERY, THEN PUT IT BACK IN.
Close case, restart/turn on player.

The device has a reset hole.
Use a pen tip or other sharp object to insert the RESET hole on the side of the player.
The hole can be found by means of this figure:

If you need a user manual it can be download-able from here.

Hi nhobbs31...
Try the easy way to delete the files, music, etc.

Deleting Files,Pictures,Videos,Audio
Books, Apps,etc. from MP3 Player/Ipod
------------------------------------------------------------------------
BIG WARNING: DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer
Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer"
When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there.
Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible.
Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete"
Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want.
ONE MORE BIG WARNING: BE CAREFUL AND DO NOT DELETE THE FILES NEEDED TO OPERATE YOUR MP3 PLAYER.

Good Day Pledieux!

Better check the data cable that you use to connect your device to your car and PC.

You can try wiggling the plug connector on your mp3 and also the other end connector of the cable that connects with your car and PC. Once it works for a few seconds by wiggling it, then it means you have an open wire on data cable. You will need to replace it.

I'm glad to provide the instructions to copy music files to the player. You can use the supplied SongBird Software or Windows Explorer to transfer music files from Computer to the Player.

When using Windows Explorer, the player will display as an extra drive under My Computer. You can open the drive which represents the player and copy the required audio files to the music folder in the player.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know if you require further assistance/clarifications.

on the bottom of this device. located center bottom is a tiny hole to reset it. Use a pin needle to reset it. Just press it in there till it stops then pull out and see if it powers up.
