There ar a few reasons that will occur. The main two are,
If there is no signal and if it is overheating.
If there is no signal. that is an easy fix and so is the overheating.
Consult your instruction manual and remove the filters, clean the air intakes and filters and refit the filters.

First, I would make sure the lamp is firmly seated into it's connector. Try removing it, and re-inserting it a few times. Also, Sanyos are notorious for bad ballast boards. (The ballast board is responsible for 'striking' the lamp, and regulating it's current.) Usually, a bad Sanyo ballast board will cause lamps to fail much earlier than they should. Have you experienced this as-well?
