Video about Assembling the Keiser M3 Indoor Cycle

  • This video will demonstrate how to properly assemble your Keiser M3 indoor cycle
  • Tools needed for bike assembly are:
    • 5/8" or 16MM Crowfoot
    • 5MM Allen Wrench
    • 6MM Allen Wrench
    • Phillips Screwdriver
    • Torque Wrench
  • First you will need to cut away the outer box, exposing the inner box
  • Next you will want to cut away the inner box exposing the parts
    • Be careful not to let the parts fall over and/or get damaged during this process
  • Once you have the boxes cut away you will be left with one big mass of parts zip-tied and shrink wrapped together
    • Carefully remove the shrink wrap and cut zip ties and place the parts aside for future use
  • After the parts have all been unwrapped and separated, carefully place the base frame onto the base frame studs
    • Make sure that the wheels on the base frame are facing the front of the cycle
  • Install one washer and an acorn nut onto each of the base frame studs and hand tighten
  • Using a 5/8" or 16MM crowfoot and torque wrench, torque the acorn nuts to 35 foot pounds (ft/lbs)
    • Be sure that all four of the acorn nuts have been set to the right torque
  • Before moving on to the next step make sure that the shifter lever is in the downward position
  • Grab the five socket head cap screws and a 5MM Allen wrench
    • Now carefully slide the flywheel between the magnets and onto the hub at the same time
    • Holding the flywheel in place with one hand install the hub cap and align the screw holes
    • Make sure that the flywheel is flush against the hub and install the screws
      • Tighten the screws in a star pattern, as demonstrated in the video, until snug
  • The next step is to install the pedals.
    • It is very important that you use the thread locker included
      • Once you've applied a couple of drops to the pedal, install the pedals by hand
    • Note: You will need to turn the left pedal counter clockwise to install it, as it has left handed threads. The right pedal is standard threads and will need to be turned clockwise to install it
  • Torque the pedals with a 5/8" or 16MM crowfoot and torque wrench to 35 foot pounds (ft/lbs)
  • The next step is to install the computer onto the frame
    • To complete this step you will just need a Phillips head screwdriver
    • Remove the screw from the frame as shown in the video and install it while holding the computer in place
      • Note: take caution that you do not pinch the computer wires
  • Once the computer is mounted the next step is to install the sweat cover
    • To do so you will also need a Phillips screwdriver
    • Begin by removing the screws from the frame as shown in the video
    • Now slide the cover into place and re-install the screws
  • The next step is to install the bottom slide
    • Using a 6MM Allen wrench remove the four screws from the frame as demonstrated in the video
    • Now hold the bottom slide in place with one hand and install the four hex head screws with the other hand
    • Once they are all finger tight, torque them with the 6MM Allen wrench
  • Next you will want to install the handlebars
    • Using just the red threaded portion of the L-handle (lever) and the spacer, attach the handlebars by finger tightening the spacer and threaded piece of L-handle through the slider from the bottom with the handlebars on top of the slider as shown in the video
    • Then re-assemble the L-handle
    • Once the L-handle is installed/assembled correctly you should be able to use it to loosen the handlebar and slide it to the best position for you
  • The final step is to install the flywheel guard
    • Be sure to install the guard between the two notches in the frame as shown in the video
    • Using the associated bolts install the guard to the frame at the bottom of the guard
    • Now use a 5MM Allen wrench to tighten the bolts into the frame
  • Finish by going over all hardware on the bike to make sure it is properly tightened
  • This completes the procedure of putting together your new Keiser M3 indoor cycle

Video about Keiser M3 and M3+ L-Handle Installation, Lubrication and Adjustment

  • This video will demonstrate how to properly install, adjust and lubricate the L-handle on your Keiser M3 or M3+ indoor cycles
  • When installing the L-handle, to lubricate the threads apply a small amount of heavy grease, such as Superlube, to the threaded portion
  • On the slider you will notice the notch that acts as a catch for the handle to prevent it from being over tightened
    • It is important that you install the slider with the notch toward the rear of the indoor cycle
  • Next install the red threaded portion by hand
    • Once you have installed it by hand make sure that the handlebars are tight before performing the next step
      • If they are not, turn the threaded portion a bit more before performing the next step
  • Now install the handle and screw with washer by hand, making sure the handle is just passed half way of its range of motion as shown in the video
  • Then finish tightening it using your 5mm Allen wrench
  • At this point you should be able to tighten the handle a little more, or you can turn it the other direction and your handlebars will slide smoothly
    • This should keep people from over-tightening the handles and breaking them
  • This completes our demonstration of the install, lubrication and adjustment of the L-handle on Keiser M3 or M3+ bikes

What is the maintenance required for folding exercise bikes?

Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the frame, seat, pedals, and any other accessible surfaces with a damp cloth to remove sweat, dust, and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage the bike's finish.

Lubrication: Apply lubricant to the moving parts such as the hinges, pedals, and resistance mechanism according to the manufacturer's recommendations. This helps prevent rust and ensures smooth operation.

Tightening: Periodically check and tighten all bolts, screws, and nuts to prevent loosening during use. Pay particular attention to the folding mechanism to ensure it remains secure.

Inspecting: Examine the bike for any signs of wear or damage, such as frayed cables, worn pedals, or loose components. Address any issues promptly to prevent further damage and ensure safety.

Storage: When not in use, fold the bike properly and store it in a clean, dry area away from moisture and direct sunlight. This helps prolong its lifespan and prevents corrosion.

Battery maintenance: If your folding exercise bike includes electronic components such as a display console, ensure that the batteries are replaced as needed to maintain proper functionality.

Regular servicing: Consider scheduling periodic maintenance checks with a professional technician to ensure all components are in good working condition and to address any potential issues before they escalate.

Promaster pro plus 2 error code 31

Error 31 on your Promaster Pro Plus 2 treadmill could indicate a variety of issues, such as a problem with the motor or the motor controller. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Power cycle the treadmill: Turn off the treadmill and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, simply resetting the treadmill can resolve error codes like Error 31.
  2. Check the motor connections: Make sure all the wires and connections to the treadmill motor are secure and properly connected. Loose connections could cause error codes to appear.
  3. Inspect the motor controller: The motor controller regulates the speed and operation of the treadmill motor. Check for any visible signs of damage or overheating on the motor controller. If you notice any issues, you may need to replace the motor controller.
  4. Contact customer support: If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, it's best to contact the manufacturer's customer support for assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting steps for your treadmill model and may be able to offer a solution or arrange for repairs if necessary.
By following these steps, you can hopefully resolve Error 31 on your Promaster Pro Plus 2 treadmill and get it working again.

Treadclimber TC 200 treadles rubbing in the middle

Check Alignment: First, ensure that the treadles are properly aligned. Misalignment can cause rubbing. Make sure the treadles are parallel to each other and evenly spaced. Tighten any loose bolts or nuts that secure the treadles to the frame. Inspect the Walking Belt: Examine the walking belt for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. A damaged belt can cause uneven movement and rubbing. If the belt is worn out, consider replacing it. Lubricate the Bolts and Joints: Apply lubricant (such as silicone spray) to the bolts and joints where the treadles connect to the frame. This can reduce friction and prevent rubbing. Be cautious not to over-lubricate, as excess lubricant can attract dust and debris. Check for Obstructions: Look for any foreign objects (dirt, debris, or small items) that might be caught between the treadles or near the alignment bolts. Remove any obstructions to ensure smooth movement. Inspect the Alignment Bolts: Make sure the alignment bolts are properly adjusted. They should be tightened enough to prevent excessive movement but not too tight to cause rubbing. Adjust the bolts if necessary.' Test the TreadClimber: After performing the above steps, test the TreadClimber to see if the rubbing issue persists. If the problem continues, consider contacting the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance.
