Purportedly, H4 refers to heat lamp problems, either broken heat lamp or dirty thermostat on the heater roller assembly. It may be referred to as the fuser temperature error.
It may also be a false reading and just need clearing.
If it is simply toner caked on the temperature sensor, such has to be scraped off. If a false reading, you can try to clear it with the following. Press P-interrupt-C-interrupt and enter test command 14 and Execute to clear your error. Or try Press this sequence: CLR-Exposure-CLR-Exposure; The display will go blank; enter "14", press "PRNT"; Press "CLR" several times to exit.
Also, you can try turning off the machine for 30 seconds and then turning it back on to see if it clears the problem.
If none of this works, it may be a bad thermistor (a resistor) on the temperature sensor.

This could be fixed by cleaning the glass lens on top of the copier, which would make sure that your paper comes in contact with only one spot of light as you press your keys. Page 56 of the following refers to entering the Systems Settings. From there, one enters the Security Settings. That is where changes to the password may be performed. My guess is that the default password is admin.

F2 40 error in Sharp AR=5520 copier
F2 code means a problem with toner cartridge error. Sometimes F2 is caused by loss or broken harness in the scanning section, in this case, it sometimes displays an E7 code. When f2 flashes on display just press the Start key you will receive a subcode. If the subcode is F2-02 this is a toner supply problem. If the F2-04 toner chip is damaged, replace the chip.
