Flashing light on display H-4 what does this mean

H4 = Low Heat Roller Temperature Detection.

Possible causes:

Thermistor abnormality

Heater lamp abnormality

Thermostat abnormality

Control PWB abnormality

Try resetting the error code using the following sequence....

Press #,Interrupt,C,Interrupt Then press 14, Start Button.

Hopefully the machine should now come to ready. If not check the heater unit for paper jams that could be blocking the thermistor or thermostat. The thermostat may have a small button on the back, try pressing this in. (it pops out if it detects overheat).

Otherwise it's likely to be the Heat Lamp that requires replacing.

Hope this helps

How do you tell how many copies have been made

Hi, there are two ways of taking meter reading.
  1. Simply press and hold 0 key till you see six digits and write them down. For example 000,654 means that it has copied 654 copies since you bought it .If you hold # key as above, you will see the number printed if you use a printer. The difference between the two is the printed copies.
  2. The other is the command mode where you press command 22 enter 05 enter and read the copies.

How to see paper count

Hi, i suppose you mean the copier meter reading. There are two ways one is for the copies made and the other for prints made. Press and hold # for reading prints made and press and hold 0 for copies made. Read the six digits that appears and record on a sheet of paper as they start and thats the reading. To know daily readings, subtract the figure for evening from the one for morning and the difference is your reading.

What is error code L6?

If I remember correctly, the error code means that your laser is not working correctly. When the copier is "ON" will it make a load humming noise? You will most likely have to replace the laser polygon mirror motor. It is not that hard to replace and you can buy it on line.... Basicly how much do you like the copier? It may not pay to repair it. I would look up the part price..... Good Luck
