apply a dry contact cleaner over the defective key and press it many times until it becomes fine if this does not work will.
please follow me:-1- use a *****driver and get out *****s in the bottom(normally 4-5 *****)2-open the machine you will find the keyboard and many small *****s remove all with small *****driver.
3-remove key bad out and clean it with water-dry it carefully and return it back put all *****s back and test your calculator.

probably just need to resolder the switch for #6, should just need to have the soldering iron touch the solder to re melt it. worth a try.

To set the date Step by step as follows: Set the lever to "RATE SET", Press the clock/calendar key once and the date will be diplayed, key in the info as follows: 1/1/08 would be keyed in as "1" "." try switching the top button next to GT to rate,then enter your tax rate then % (8.25%) then switch the top button back to on (or whereever you had it set to) and hit the tax+ button. That worked for me. GO TEXAS!!!

You can try resetting the unit by pressng the RESET switch on the bottom of the unit. Note that resetting will clear the set date and time configuration, as well as conversion rate, tax/discount rate, and memory contents.
