How to connect the planronics

Unfortunately finding life on another planet would be easier than locating an ancient (electronic years) PLX-500 user guide. However, I happen to have one of those ancient writings (no, it wasn't in a cave at the Dead Sea), albeit a bit tattered and yellow, so I'll try and give you a rundown of it's various features. The top buttons for headset/handset and mute, and listening volume wheel are pretty self-explanatory. Now let's talk about connecting the PLX-500 to your phone and the other amplifier features.1) Disconnect the telephone handset cord from telephone base and insert the PLX-500 modular plug into the handset jack on the phone. You then insert the coiled handset cord into the back of the PLX-500 base (there's only one place it can go into). 2) Plug the cord from the headset into the jack in the front of the PLX-500.3) On the back of the PLX-500 base there are two switches (1-2 and 3-4). These are used to configure your PLX-500 to your phone (most electronic single and multi-line phones, such as Panasonic, will use setting 1 and 4). You will have to configure the PLX-500 to your specific phone. Having connected your PLX-500 to your phone, put on your headset, press the headset button on the base, lift the handset of the phone cradle and listen for a dial tone. Adjust the switch settings until you hear the best dial tone. 4) Remember that your PLX-500 uses batteries located under a cover on the bottom of the base (some phones will work without your PLX-500 needing batteries, check configuration before installing batteries). Speaking of the cover, there is a small plastic screwdriver attached to it that you use for adjusting the volume of your microphone. That adjustment is located on the back of the PLX-500 base next to the configuration switches. Hopefully this gets your PLX-500 up and running.Good luck from Headsets Direct!

What are the 1.2 and 3,4 switch on trhe PLX-500

That dial on the side of your charging base is your compatibility to the phone that you are using. To make sure that it is working in the right spot think of a clock and the 3:00 position. Most phones work on 1.Good luck from Headsets Direct!

On my plantronics cs540a i do not get a beep to let me know there is an incoming call.

If your Plantronics CS540A is not providing a beep to let you know there is an incoming call, there are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Check the settings: Make sure that the ringer volume is turned on and set to an appropriate level. You can adjust the ringer volume using the button on the base of the Plantronics CS540A or through the settings on your phone or computer.
  2. Check the mute button: Make sure that the mute button on the Plantronics CS540A or on your phone or computer is not engaged.
  3. Check the connection: Make sure that the Plantronics CS540A is properly connected to the phone or computer.
  4. Check the battery level: Make sure that the battery on the Plantronics CS540A is charged and that there is enough battery power to provide a beep.
  5. Check the software updates: Make sure that the Plantronics CS540A has the latest software updates installed.
  6. Check the settings of your phone or computer, there could be an option to turn off the ringtones of the headset.
  7. Check the volume of the ringer, it should be set to an appropriate level.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance. It's recommended to check the user manual of your device before trying any of the above steps, as the process of troubleshooting the ringer can vary depending on the model and manufacturer.

  1. Make sure the volume on the headset is turned up.
  2. Check the settings on your phone to ensure that the ringtone volume is turned up and that the ringtone is not set to vibrate only.
  3. Make sure the headset is properly paired and connected to your phone.
  4. Check the battery level on the headset. If the battery is low, charge the headset.
  5. If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you can try resetting the headset to its factory settings.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, you should contact Plantronics customer support for further assistance.

Audio notification issue with BT600

Hi, since re-pairing caused this, please perform another re-pair and check for the pre-sounds beeps again. I'm guessing that you might have accidentally skipped a step in your first attempt and it led to this sound occurring. Thank you.

PLANTRONICS SG_106 BATTERY REPLACEMENT

If it is the internal CMOS battery, it should be an easy swap. There is a high potential that this will reset the radio settings and you will lose all saved channels/frequencies, and have to reprogram them. Cell size is usually a CR2032 or CR2032R. The R is for the rechargable version, but not all equipment will do that. If it isn't a black socket that you can easily pop batteries in and out of, you may have to buy one with solder tabs or wires already attached. I don't reccomend trying to solder directly on the battery because it can fail and even expload from the heat.

I purchased a Plantronics CS510. Order nbr: FOS9081388E. Need help with headset.

Your order number is irrelevant to anyone except Plantronics Support and the vendor, and you should not quote it to anyone but them. For anyone to help you, you need to make an effort yourself. e.g. Instead of stating you 'need help', read all the product's manuals, take the installation steps suggested, and then state specifically what your problem is.These pages may help you:https://www.plantronics.com/us/en/support/product
