I wouldn't recommend going through the Manufacturer, since they tend to have a mark-up of at least 200%. Look for a program called Sound Booster or one called DFX. DFX is my favorite because it not only boosts the volume, but lets you add other effects to enhance you sound as well. There is a free version. but to get all the effects you have to upgrade to the paid. If audio is important to you, check it out.

Try going into sound select and test reinstall driver off Asus website..if you installed new windows or update drivers may not work right...see if you can roll back driver in device manager ..if not lookup your laptop model and reinstall...
