Hi, I was wondering what Operating System you're using. But if you have Windows 7 (this could be similar to Windows Vista), all you have to do is just click the "start button or windows button" on your keyboard.



You will see that there is a search box, please type in "mouse," then hit the "ENTER" button on your keyboard.



You will be directed to the Mouse Properties window, you need to select on the "Pointers" tab, highlight "Normal Select," and click on "Browse."



You will now see the available mouse pointers on your system. You may select the one you want and hit "Open."



You will be routed back to the "Pointers tab" and you'll now see that on the Normal Select, the mouse pointer you chose is now showing. To make the changes take effect, hit on "APPLY," then "OK."

Possibly because upon closing it the cover didn't press down the switch for some reason, just look around inside it, and check if there's any piece of paper covering the sensor or the sensor switch might be visible and broken.

I will need some clarification as to the model number of your projector to best help you but in general if you have a DLP type projector & suddenly lose all color to your image then the color wheel has failed by burning out or breaking. The color wheel sits directly in front of the projection lamp & if you take your lamp out you can use a flashlight & point it in towards the spot where the light comes out of the lamp & look at the color wheel. The color wheel has 4 to 6 different color pieces called segments like yellow, red, blue & a clear segment. You will be able to see if the color wheel is broken.
If it is you need to have the unit serviced. If you're handy you may be able to order a new color wheel. They are usually around $100. There can be other causes as well but the wheel is the first place to investigate. Please let me know if this was helpful.
