What is the brand and model of the combo player that you have>

Check to see if the dvd is damaged or dirty, try cleaning it.

You can also try using a lens cleaner in the dvd player.
look for something like this

also if you could tell us more about the dvd and your dvd player brand and model, I can see its a GoVideo.

The sound board probably has a short on it or a broken connection. You will have to physically open the device to find the exact problem. Follow the audio cables to the board to find it.

sounds like a blown fuse...check that first.

the mechanical of your dvd is dirty or have many dust,you may the mechanical of your dvd especially the lens.
