My Apple computer will not play the DVD's that I transferred from VHS. Why?

Doubtful. If the drive won't read them, it may just be the brand on disk that is preventing it. Changing software settings won't improve anything if the drive in the computer can't read the disk.

My GO VIDEO_DVD_Recorder +VCR-VR3845 .The DVD player is jammed and can not be used.I have many dvd's recorded on this player. Is there a way to play these dvd's on other players.I tried to play

See if you can find the same DVR online, then remove the hard drive from your old one and put it in the newer one. Check ebay, if no luck, check the manufacturer's website.

Why does vcr/dvd vr2945 keeps ejecting the vhs tape?

ELECTRO MED SERVICES is partially correct with his answer but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be that complicated. First unplug the unit remove the cover and use 90% isopropal alcohol on a cotton swab or q-tip and clean off all of the metal pins that stick up and ride against the tape while it plays, then clean off the big rubber roller that pinches the tape to pull the tape at the correct speed. this is where most often the problem lies. the tape will get sticky and will bind up slightly. Then a there's a sensor on the left side that puts tension on the tape, if that sensor feels the tape is being pulled to hard and has no slack it will shut the player down and eject the tape. Another thing try another tape, that tape may have some hard rolling hubs or spindles. You can also try fast forwarding the tape to the end and then rewind it to make sure its not just rewound with something rubbing inside the tape case it's self. Sometimes the tape case will get deformed over years and it will rub on the tape spools inside and it will cause that sensor to trip when the tape starts to become hard to pull through the player. Also you can clean the big silver head but be careful no make sure you leave no residue on it. look at it with a magnifiying glass to make sure it's cleaned and free of any residue. 1 last thing that happens also is the automatic tape head cleaner will act up and cause problems, you can easily just remove that from the player and see if thats the culprit.

The VCR is playing the tape but the picture won't show up on the TV

Is there a video output from the vcr? Have you tried the video on another tv set? If other tv set also does not work then the issue is with the vcr output circuits.

I have a go video dvd/vcr combo. The vcr makes a hissing noise when played. Also shows poor tracking. Is it worth fixing?

Start off with using a vcr tape cleaner make sure you read instructions some are just a brush while some others cleaners have a small liquid cleaner to add to it after using cleaner do not worry about rewinding it until another day you may need it.you can also try switching the progressive scan off if being used.If its eating tapes the tensioner could be loose or wore out or the locking mechanism is not working properly when tape is inserted. If you are not experienced in this field I recommend letting a shop look at it if so cleaning it is about the only thing you do also try opening the vcr tape bay door taking a deep breath and blow inside it without a tape in it do this several times it may just be dust and you can try unplugging it for 10 minutes to reset the device to see if its a stuck communication glitch in the board for the head motors.I hope one of these three basic tricks helps you.

Turn off the progressive scan mode?

is this question about the progressive scan when going to dvd mode more than likely the switch to control your p scan is on the back of your vcr/dvd player near the center look on the back and flick the switch to off usually the switches are just black moving left and right if not go into your menu and look for progressive scan mode if its not directly on the menu it is more than likely in the settings folder. Also if your remote is like the one i posted just click the p.scan button 25396646-3s2mdgp4ofhc0ysctb3a25wt-2-0.jpg

Why does my player freeze up, refuse to turn off both manually and with remote and I have to unplug unit in order to stop player and then plug back in again in order to use player again?

They have inbuilt computers in them and as you know if the system crashes for some reason then like a computer it stops working. However this should only happen a few times and not all the time. If the device is doing it a lot you might be operating it in the wrong way or the wrong conditions - getting too hot for example - or have some kind of fault on it. Some of them have a special reset button or a combination of buttons that will restore it without pulling the plug. It should mention this in the user manual. If you have lost the manual try searching the net for a PDF version. User manuals are generrally free, service manuals are generally not though.

I went from cable to uhf, How do I program my TV. channel to make my TV. and DVR4300 to work?

It should not affect you menu at all. When you get a settings menu you just switch from Cable to Air and then have it do it\'s auto scan routine. I cut the cord from Comcast to HDTV as soon as I got a house and could install an antenna. The picture quality is MUCH better then the crappy signal Comcast was sending me which always broke up. I get a solid signal from my stations which are 12-33 miles away. The DVR should be similar. My Samsung TV will actually simultaneously scan for both kinds but it\'s unusual.

Dvd tray won't open

the belt that opens and closes the drawer is too old and likely stretched out or otherwise deformed..
it's a $3.00 part however i'm having difficulty finding the part number to find an exact match, and could use help on that.
i'm going to temporarily use a belt i got from a dvd repair place. we measured it and found one that's ALMOST the same size (little skinnier but little shorter. difficult to gauge proper belt without a parts list.
i'll keep looking.
if anyone has access to parts list for GoVideo DVR4200 i'd appreciate the heads up.
thanks,
mark

I have a acer aspire pc & it won't eject dvd

Thinking you may have restarted your pc and still no progress, straighten a paper clip, one bend straight out will work, find the small hole next to the dvd/cd tray and softly insert the clip until it stops. Gently apply pressure, you will feel some movement, repeat until you can just pull out the tray. The motor is probably dead in your player. Good luck.

I need a user gude for my Go Video dvd 5000 DVD/VCR Combo to perform a factory reset

If you can't play a DVD (only) the most likely cause of that is the optical pickup (laser) has failed. It can be repaired, but it usually not cost effective as it cost more to repair vs. replacement, esp. a used unit you can find on line (ebay). I do have the user's guide and worked for GV customr service, and this is my recommendation. You can unplug it for a while, that is the only other possible remedy, but if that doesn't do it....I recommend you trash it. Sorry, there is maybe a 1 in 10 chance the optical pickup will fail during the long term use. I’m happy to assist further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/stanley_d05f392d8fafa669

I cannot get my GO VR5940 to finalize a disc

1) you must shure the Disck is cleaned or not scrack , clean very well in vertical SENSE NOT circle, in that way you are erasing the data!2) use disc cleaner for to clean THE OPU, and can read the TOC from DISC complete.3) Tight any wires connector inside, and clean the ribbon cable with erase pencil4) If the problem persist the problem can BE the OPU faulty. Go to the repair shop.God bless you8_3_2012_9_59_34_am.jpg
