Problem could be the thermal fuse cutoff on top of the lamp assembly. Has two wires going to it. A good test is to remove one wire and connect an alligator jumper to the two wires by passing the thermal fuse cutoff and see if it will stay on. Clean out any dust in the chassis as it can cause overheating. Do not leave the set hooked up this way permanently! Just to test!

R G B circuit transistor to be checked. This is located in the picture
tube connecting end PCB. ( Neck ) Check the transistor and its components.

1. Perform Memory Initialization. NOTE: You must write down some data values before performing initialize.

On right side as you look from front is door secured with at least one screw; with set unplugged remove door and two more screws behind it that secure the lamp cartridge (it has a handle) and carefully pull it out----replacement lamp comes in one of two ways= just the bulb or the bulb with the cartridge.

Get the one with the whole cartridge, much easier to replace and "generic" ones are no bargain as they usually have a shorter life.

Carefully insert the new cartridge in being sure the two pin plug on the back engages correctly; NEVER TOUCH THE FACE OF THE LAMP WITH YOUR HAND as oil on your fingers can damage the lamp when it operates.

If you search the internet with the model number you will find a lot of sources for a replacement lamp.

Check the tv fan it is running?No than the fan require replacing.Yes,than the tv projection lamp life are ending require replacing.

This is the famous pink screen, you will have to re-initiate the set.

Go into the settings and adjust the picture, turn the brightness and most likely the contrast down, or there should be a reset button to change it back to factory settings.

hi, yellow tint because LCD problem. change yellow LCD panels will solve your problem.

The tv is having a problems known as a convergence problems,it dead.Tv have R,G,B colors lines mis alignments,have colors shadows pictures or 3D pictures look alike?Yes.The tv convergence board have dead 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all of it resistors too.The tv convergence board,must have these parts replaced to fixed the tv convergence board to solved the tv convergence picture problems.The shop will cost u like $300-350 for parts and labors.

Try shutting off your TV and unplug the power cable for a few minutes, if the probem still persists then please call the service center and have it picked up and repaired

It is most likly an optical problem with dust or a haze onthe optics or a bulb problem or could be a bad LCD display. If I were youand if you are handy, get a service manual, look at how to disassemble theoptics and light housing, and clean everything first, but NEVER ever sprayanything onto the optics and use just a slightly damped soft cloth, never anypaper product. Or the way the pros recommend is with compressed air, butif it is canned air, be careful, as those things get cold and you can easilydamage something. In a good camera storethey will have a bulb type blower to clean lenses off .

If your problem is with the light engine Hitachi has extended the warranty of theengines out to 3 years. You'll need to contact an authorized Hitachi service center tohave this fixed at no charge.

make sure that you have pushed the lamp back in all the way, if that doesn't work, you may have a bad lamp. you can check it with a ohm meter or continutiy checker

Something like that shouldn't be caused by just hooking up a playstation. However, leaving a certain picture on the screen could cause burn-in (it's rare on newer TVs though, but it definitely happened on mine).

If I knew the Model I could guess better, if it's only the brightness, why don't they fix, I would guess if much more, if floor model meaning the tube tv or CRT then it could be fixed easily if you know what to do, but if it's a flat panel then you are looking for a board probably. Either way 50 is not much.
