You're going to have to be more specific. When you are messing with the convergence settings, are all of the crosshairs straight lines? Are they crisp or fuzzy? Can you successfully move the Red and Blue crosshairs up/down/left/right? Have you opened up the TV yet? I'll help you from there once we get some details.

Make sure no one pushed the front screens in a little. That will cause exactly what you have. I've seen cases like this where someone would move there set with one had pushing on the front screen and dis-lodging them creating that problem... Hope this helps.

Unfortunately, without me seeing it I can't tell all what you will need to put it back into optimum performance. Older projection sets are pron-ed to having the coolant replaced for the 3 picture tubes. I don't know the quality of the tubes themselves, so it's really tough to make a call on your set. If it's just fluid, I would say you would invest $300.-400. in work. I don't believe it's worth putting that much into it if that's what it needs. Of coarse this is only if you have a projection set, you didn't state what model of set so I'm assuming it is one. Hope this helps......

Hello Bour,Its not too Bad,You gonna need a Couple of Things,Solder Wick,And a Soldering Gun,As you Pull ooff the Back of the Set.Youll find Probley 8 Screws Holding the Deflection Module(that will be the One with The High Voltage Tranformer on it(IHVT)You will have to look good on the board for all screws.....The Red lead tha come out of the IHVT Push down and Turn it should Come loose,The follow the g2 Lead to a Screen focus Bluck and pull on it it will come loose from it Note wher this lead came from,Once you have the Board loose,Turn it over and Put the Solder wick on the Connections and apply Heat,Solder will be sucked up by the Wick and you do this with each Conn,Till the IHVT is Loose(Note)Solderwick is available at Radioshack,Hope this Helps Perry

I had this problem in a 46UX50B (I think that's the model), and it turned out to be some capacitors in the power circuit(?). After the service guy replaced those, it hasn't failed to come on since.

jansen6pack- I am currently repairing the same tv, what I found is that the video pak is going.I have checked pricing and the unit is about 500 bucks,but if you take it to a repair shop they may be able to repair it or send it away for repair. It may be worth the estimate charge. cooltekFeb.18/08

You need to most likely replace the convergence output IC's probably STK392-110's and check associated resistors around it. HD is not mandated for 2009, only digital braodcast it is at that point all analog television broadcast must stop.

That sounds like it is not booting properly. I would check for correct power supply opperation and if not that, look for a software reloading procedure in the user instruction manual.
