Mini shop vac

There is a hidden thermo fuse in the tape on one of the field windings. If it overheats that fuse will blow and the motor won't run until replaced.

Ridgid shop vac. use filter or not when vac. water

Just use the sponge filter, if wet dust goes through the blades, it will build up, throw it off balance and the vacuum blades will break loose from the shaft.

How do the wheels install

10. You will find four casters (Figure B) and a dolly (Figure C) with your wet/dry vacuum. Assemble as follows: 11. If the casters are not already installed in dolly, insert casters into bottom of dolly by placing stem of caster into holes provided. Ap- ply pressure and twisting motion until casters snap into place (Figure 1). 12. With cord disconnected from receptacle and tank cover removed, turn tank upside down so that bottom is facing up.

Is a shop vac supposed

You should have two ports on the shopvac. One that is basically your vacuum and one you can use as a blower. Your hose will fit on both connectors. So yes, it would both **** and blow. This is called a "blow-through" system.

We inherited the shopvac 16

The foam filter is for use when using the vac. to pick up water. Now you should have a paper filter for picking up dry material. If possible you may want to look inside of one at the store. Hope this helps.

Stinger Wet/Dry Vac There is NOTHING

To PETMOMBR I recently had the same problem, I contacted Emerson Tool Co to see if a replacement for the blow wheel is available, and sadly it is not. I was told that the Rigid vacs do have replacement parts and some with a lifetime warranty.
Had my vac for approx 10 yrs, I would say I got my moneys worth. In all, I'd say it's a toss, time to get a new one.

I just bought a shop

Too much water in the unit causes what you describe. Water should be drained and the unit completely dried between water events, or unit will rust and have shortened life.

Usually this is from a compromised liner.

They usually just put as smaller O.D. pipe in.

How do you purge the liquid from a shopvac

Hi,
If you have picked up liquid with your shop vac , you then need to release the handles on the side and dump the liquid out of the tub. Do not worry about the top part, the ball will float up and shut off the air so no damage will occur.
Also change the filter and bag if you have either inside when the liquid is picked up.

No you do not need the filter to pick up glass. If you are vacuuming up dust/dirt then use the filter.

Shop vac 90L400 stopped working won't start

I had the same problem with the same model. Turned out to be the thermal fuse on the motor housing, between the switch and the windings. Took it apart and replaced the melted solder with 14 guage copper wire. Works fine! No thermal protection but I don't use it for long at a time anyway. Check the switch for continuity, if good then check the thermal fuse for continuity. If good, it's the motor.

I was using the shopvac and it just quit. (changed filter, still

The brushes that make contact with the motor's armature need to be cleaned. If you get into the motor and find that the armature is scored or burnt then you'll have to replace the motor.

you have to clean the filter too. Use an air hose to clean it or brush it off with a stiff brush or you can wash it if it isn't paper. As a last resort you can get a new one.

Blows dust out of the exhaust

Take the top off and check to see if your filter is correctly in place. If so check the filter to see if its torn or has any holes in it. If so you will need to replace the filter! :)
