Pixiling problem--replace light engine

when rearprojection tv's don't power on and you get a blinking light. it means the bulb needs replaced. the cheapest place to get a new ulb should be ebay. good luck.

You must use the original stk 392-110 and stk 392-150 and do not mix them up. There is one of each.

All the suggestions about substituting other ICs for 110's are Bullplop, except for Hitachi manufacturers upgrade with changed resistor values included.

You can order the power assembly (part number JT23831) from tritronicsinc.com for $140.32. Upon the return of hte bad module, you will get refunded $25 making the final cost $115.32

Yes you need to replace both convergence ICs. They are both STK392-150 you will also need to replace the 6 feed resistors. You will need ( two ) 1.8 ohm 1watt metal film resistors.
( one) 3.3 ohm 1watt, ( 0ne) 2.7 ohm 1watt, ( one) 4.7 ohm 1 watt, and ( one ) 2.2 ohm 1watt . The resistors are all 1 watt metal film resistors. You can get replacement ICs and resistors at the following link with free instalation instructions with pictures, plus free tech support.

Convergence ICs replace them bot 2 big black ics STK392-560s not sure what your STK numbers are but use same number to order parts call Electronix Parts 1-800-223-3205 PS if they are using 110s use 180s if 020s use 040s better ics.

It is my understanding that the 46F500 HD Ready only goes to 1080i and for Blu Ray you need 1080p. There are no ports for this format.

What make and moel set do you have? Most sets hav a daignosis code built into the flashing power light.

a common problem wich i also have with convergence with blue and red convergence.
the image converge amplifiers are burnet out wich in turn blow out resisters that control individual color convergence.

I am slightly confused about the model of the television, because a 46F500 is a rear projection set that doesn't have a lamp. It has 3 picture tubes and I have a few of them in my shop right now that have the problem you reported. What we do to this set when it develops a convergence issue is to check each resistor around the convergence chips for discoloration, and replace any of them that have changed in value, along with the STK392-150 ic's. If you don't have an ohm meter and solder/desolder equiptment, you can usually get a shop to do this repair for 150.00 to 350.00. Parts will be 50.00 and labor , the rest, depending on the quality of repair shop that you use. Good luck, Russmann.

Having yellow and blue shadows outlines show up on picture.

If you did manual conv. You have to redo it when you replace the bad parts. Them being conv. ic's replace them and check 1/4 watt resistors that are low value right beneath amps. Careful not to solder any foil pads together or you will have major problems. Very common for do-it-yourselfers. Good luck, Russmann.

Pull the back off and tap on the deflection board. Does it get brighter? If so, you have a bad connection and or cold solder joint.

Can anyone give me the resistor values for location RK 42, RK 46 and RK 62? Hitachi 46F500 TV. Or can I be pointed to the location of a service manual?
