before buying a replacement part try to check first if there is wire touching the fan. Probably there is wire that was accidentally trip and touching the cooling fan. cooling fan didnt break so easily so check it first before buying a new one.
Cannot get the focus right
I think I have the same exact problem. I've found that I can focus it at about 16.5 ft, but only when I make the projection about as small as I can make it. It doesn't feel like the dial can rotate far enough to focus. If you figure it out, please let me know.
What is the function of
When a source is connected it is to move the sequence like moving on a slide show manually or moving the slides on a PDF presentation.
My BenQ6100 projector switches off
hi,
There are two fans behind the projector. any one of it have some problem. find out which fan is not working. Remove that fan. Remove the specification sticker on it . you can see its bearing( a small hole). put one drop of any type of lubricating oil in it . Rotate the leafs with your finger for some time. Re-fix the specification sicker . Install the fan back in to the projector and try.
ok
Hi
We need to replace
This is only a help site, not tied to any manufacturer. So yes, all we do is look online to try to help you find a part (or provide information if we already have it). There are many places online where you can purchase the replacement lamp. Among them is
Amazon.com, and you can use the part number information to shop around. I've never worked on a BenQ, but on other projectors the lamp housing comes out from the bottom after you remove a retaining screw or two. I doubt the BenQ is much different. The replacement lamp is already in the housing, so it's easy to pop the new one in. The cost is what turns most people off; new lamps average $150 and sometimes it's not much more to just replace the projector if you find a sale going on. As for resetting the lamp time, that's usually found in a maintenance menu where you can set it and the "clean filter" time back to zero.
The green power light comes
This problem can be related to faulty lamp or shored component on main control board in the projector.----------
On the control board. There are tiny electrical components like, capacitor,IC and resistors.Carefully see all the components carefully,if any component is got burned or any capacitor is got bulged up or leaked from its top or any component is got loose from the board soldering. If you see such component, then replace the component if its burnt or leaked.Refit the component if its got loose.Just a basic soldering is required to replace or to refit the component. But if you see nothing wrong on the board then, the lamp needs replacement. In most of the cases the lamp replacement indicator light comes ON.But in some cases this indicator does not come on but the lamp does not come on,as it needs replacement.---------------- Check the control board very carefully. Its not a huge board. Its a small circuit board.Check both front of control board as well as back of control board.----------

This should help.Thanks.Helpmech.
Hi there my benq dlp
This is caused by dust on the lens assembly. If you can remove the lens, clean the surfaces with a lens cloth. That should resolve the problem. It is possible that the there is dust in the optical pathway inside the unit as well. If the cleaning of the lens does not resolve the problem, the unit should be brought in for a professional cleaning. It is not suggested that anyone open up these units as there are fine adjustments that can be changed internally easily that could result in convergence problems.

Any place in canada for a new main board for the Benq pb6xxx series?
It's a reasonable possibility the main board is blown. Lets make sure it isn't. When you disassembled it did you make note of the orientation of the DLP chip? This is an important part as it needs to be clean and in the right orientation. Also are all the connectors seated correctly, does the main board smell like eggs or sulfer? What is the condition of the input board? If you can have someone look at it, it could be cheaper than you think.
My Benq projector has worked
Hello.
I assume "very light images" means image is dim, not bright enough.
Looks like a lamp in your projector is going out
They have limited lifespan. If you did not replaced it for several years - this is the first thing to do.
Best regards.
Russ.
The images look wonderful on
Hi tgjohns,
The brightness output level of your projector is a measure of the projector output power in terms of light intensity. Please keep in mind however that the resultant projected image brightness is a different issue. Image brightness falls in proportion to the area of the projected image size - the bigger the projected image is, the dimmer it will look for a fixed level of projector brightness.
The projected image brightness - more specifically the Luminance level for a projected image, is a measure of the light reflected from the projector screen area. It is measured in foot-Lamberts.
The following rules of thumb would surely come to assistance in this respect:
The contrast ratio between the projected image and the ambient light level falling on the screen should be at least 5:1. This is necessary for the eye to perceive a real impression of brightness. If this contrast ratio is not achieved, the projected image will not be considered of adequate brightness level.
When viewing takes place under normal ambient light conditions, the luminance level should be close to 50 foot-Lamberts. This level of luminance is derived from the fact that SMPTE indicated a target level of image brightness for a CRT TV as 50 foot-Lamberts, this in view that a TV is normally viewed under normal ambient light. One may argue that TV is a totally different technology – this is true, but this target level for image brightness or luminance, still holds good for most circumstances.
Good luck!
And Thanks.
I have connected my Toshiba laptop to a benq
Hi there,
1) Turn off the BenQ power, before connecting your VGA cable to the Toshiba laptop.
2) Once your laptop recognises the BenQ unit, you then need to tell your laptop to send an output signal to the BenQ - you do this by pressing your 'screen output' button (this is usually one of the function keys and you may need to hold the key for 1sec). The output function key can choose either single VGA output, or both laptop screen + VGA output.
