u need a hd receiver to get hd on this tv. satellite or cable box. the screen blank in and out on hd signal. get use to the blackout.

this may sound dumb, but have you checked to make sure the CRT's (guns) are clean?

The Hitachi 43FDX01B TV is 1080i per the specs on page 63 of the Operating Guide.

How old is your TV?
TV has 3 CRTs and these can be weak in result / electron emission.
TV needs to adjust screen volts and focus of each CRT.

The convergence Ics need replaced. In Hitachi, resistors and sometimes a coil needs replaced as well. The convergence/deflection PCB is available, but, the cost of that board is higher than having a servicer come to your home and repair the unit to component level. If you are not familar with this circuit, then call a servicer. Have them replace both ICs not just one. Make sure they are repairing to component level and not replacing the board. Hope this helps.

this sounds like you are losing signal because you are losing sound and picture. It has something to do with your satellite not the TV

How many hours on the projector lamp? It is possible that it just reached the end of it's life. Most lamps have a life of somewhere between 4000 to 6000 hours of life. If your TV has PIP, try going to that mode. If you can see a picture in any of the PIP modes the lamp is OK. If that works, then it is probably a hardware issue on the video board. A service tech will have to diagnose your issue. Let us know the outcome and good luck.

you have a failed IC resistor usually you can physically see the bad one because it burns out leaving you to guess what the value was. Hitachi offers a convergence fix kit which has 2 IC's and all approiate resistors.

There should be a fold down door to the right of the buttons on the front of the set. its in there on the bottom right. This most likly will not fix your problem though, You will probably need a convergence repair. Let me know what you find and if i can give you more information.
