There is a door on the top of the copier to the right of the control panel (keyboard) which lifts open. The general instructions for adding toner is usually on the toner cartridge box and is fairly straight foreward. The toner cartridge is good for about 30,000 impressions.

This is a fuser problem. It will need to be replace or rebiult depending on what is wrong with it. It could be the fuser heat lamp, or thermistor.

Check the main thermistor,the thermal switch,the heater lamp.This components it is in open circuit.Reset the error code in service mode.

Press "Additional Functions", then "ID", then "Stop", then "Additional Functions" keys in that order. Press [STORE USER ID #] then press [OK] key. Press [CLEAR ALL ID #s] key. Press [OK].
CAUTION.....this proceedure totally wipes out all stored ID #'s and User Counters. To re-enable passwords, must be reinput manually.

If you can remove the top cover from the sorter, you will see what holds the sorter to the copier. There are two brackets with 1 screw each. The screws are vertical into brackets. After removing both screws, each bracket will pivot away from the copier to free the sorter. Hiope this helps. PS. 1 bracket towards front, 1 bracket towards rear.

It is necessary to replace Cleaning belt. The DC controller keeps count of the activation of the cleaning belt solenoid, and issues ‘E005’ when the count reaches 250,000. The count can be cleared by resetting the cleaning belt counter ‘619’ in service mode.

50% of the time, you can get it removed by following the below procedure :-

Open the front cover and on the right or left side of the inner front cover there is a small diameter hole that if you stick a paper clip into it will activate the service mode switch which will be denoted by a dollar sign on the control panel. From there push the additional functions key then 4 then the additional functions key again. From there go to error/clear and power cycle and it should be good to go as long as the web has been replaced. This is off the top of my head and it has been awhile so I hope I gave you the correct order.

If problem still persists, call Canon.

The E002 & E004 fuser unit malfunction code.Please check and clean the heater lamps,fuser thermistors & thermofuses.Check or change the SSR.

the sorter bins are not lifting equally. find a tray to use on the side of the machine or find a table the right height to use to catch the copies. that sorter is not worth fixing.

Check this code - does it read E020 ? if so this is usually a result of toner starvation possibly caused by a faulty toner sensor in dev or hopper unit.I have also found the toner hopper supply motor can fail with the same result. In either case it is an engineers job to rectify. Good luck !

The Waste Toner is located in the the drum unit it self. You need to remove the drum unit & on the top of the drum unit is a white or clear rectaular cap. You need to open it carefully and vac out the toner in side the unit. FYI if you are empting the waste toner the drum is just about worn out... Good Luck

If copies are totally blank then it most likely is not the drum. It is transfer to the drum. A charge wire is most likely the cause of these type symptoms. Not easy to do if you never have before. Exposure lamps being bad give a solid black copy symptom so I am pretty sure thats not it either. You have a charge corona inside that is probably what your issue is. If you know someone who is a tech they might restring it for you as a favor or take the unit to a local dealer to see how much they would charge to restring.

Sounds like what are known as Bias bars. These can often be cleared up with a thorough cleaning by a professional B&W copier guy.This should be done at least twice a years.

SOMEONE TURNED THE CONTRAST BUTTON ON YOUR DISPLAY, YOU JUST NEED TO READJUST BY PRESSING AND TURNING TO DESIRED CONTRAST

There is no printing....it's just an analog copier.

The bins go up & down on cams and they poppped out of place. It needs to be taken apart and the bins need to be reseated. You can call me at (561)319-8253

I would have to say you will have to order it on line. Try Precision Rollers.com. tThey may have it. Unless you can call a Canon dealer from the phone book to order it for you.... They will want to put it in for you and charge you.... You do know how to change it???? Good Luck...

"No" is the answer to all of those questions, and even if it were "yes", purchasing a good quality refurbished digital machine from a reputable supplier, would still be a far cheaper option than all of that.
