Rollers are grabbing causing smears on the copy

you need to check the fixing unit; the pressor roller and the hot roller can be damadged, rmove the fixing unit and look at the surface of the rollers if they look dirty or they are imbalanced when the main drive rotate them so you need to change the fixing roller. if you can't find a new fixing unit you can clean the roller surface properly and put a small quantity of grease on the gear and the bushing. to see the rollers that you need to check click on this link: http://www.fixya.com/support/t7385524-canon_6551_copier_rollers_grabbing if you need more help, add a comment to this post. thanks

Np 6551 canon error 210

This is a problem with lens motor - not moving the lens to the home position sensor. When the copier is first turned on the scanner should go to the left to the scanner home position. The lens will then move to the left to the home position and then go towards the rear of the copier to its home position. If the lens doesn't reach the home position within 9 seconds then you get the error. Check to see if it gets to the sensor and if not like not even moving then most likely the lens motor is bad. I know that the copier had a problem with the gear cracking on the motor. It will have to be replaced. The removal and replacement procedure is too detailed to explain. A trained tech may have to do this for you. Good Luck.

Np 6412 copy dirty lines length of paper

Sounds as if the drum needs to replaced. How long has it been in the copier? They are supposed to be good for 30,000 copies or one year. It could also be dirty optics ( mirrors and glass ). Drum is easily installed by the customer. Just practice with the old drum - removing and re-installing before using the new drum. Too expensive to damage when installing. **** open the copier, Look under the control panel and you should see two levers. Move the right one to the right - this moves the developer away from the drum. Then move the left one down and this releases the drum for removal. Reverse procedure and power up the copier. It will automatically run and set the new drum settings into the copier.

What will I do if my copier's bulb (light) is not

You will have to replace it. You should make sure the copier is unplugged because there is line voltage on the lamp. Remove the glass and move the scanner to the right a bit. You remove the black lamp shield. One or two screws, I can't remember. At the rear of the lamp you should see a spring that needs to be removed. This keeps the lamp in place. Get the correct lamp, and reverse the procedure. Test to make sure the lamp comes on before replacing the shiled and the glass. Some times the from spring lead doesn't make good contact and you have to try again. Be sure to uplugg the copier if you have to work with the lamp. Sometime the foil that powers the lamp or the connections go bad. Good Luck

Cannon 6551 Error message E210

This is most likely the lens motor is not working. The scanner should go left to the home position, then the lens should move all the way left to the lens home sensor and then go toward the rear of the copier to the home position sensor. If the lens doesn't go towards the rear then that motor is bad. There is a problem that the gear that is attached to this motor tends to crack and gives this error. You can see it clearly if you remove the glass. It will ahve to be replaced. It's been so long since I did one of these I couldn't describe how to remove the motor. Good Luck.
