Need to change the toner/ink cartridge for our cannon 7130 copier

Yes. Open the copier up (push the gray button on the left side) then grab the installed cartridge and turn it clockwise til it meets a mark (they are triangles i believe) then you should be able to pull it towards you.Careful thou, you might get little dirty! for installing the new one just do the same thing but on reverse gear :P (or read the instructions on the cartridge box, ok i needed to say it; my bad)

How do we empty the waste basket?

The "waste basket" is to indicate that the waste toner area in the drum cartridge is full. If the copy quality is still ok you may be able to empty the waste by removing the drum cartridge from the machine and removing the opaque piece from the left side and dumping it out. BE CAREFUL this can be very very messy. toner is a very fine powder and will get all over the place if caution is not used. The start key does not stop its cycle

Control panel definitely needs replacement. Based on the age of the unit and the cost (at least $350) of the repair, I would recomend replacement.

It will not copy after I emptied the waste container.

There really isn't enough information given to give a proper solution. This copier has the drum light come on steady or flashing to indicate the waste toner needs to be removed. I don't know if you're a technician or not but lay people have emptied the toner cartridge instead of removing the drum, removing the cap on top of the drum, emptying the waste toner , replacing the cap on the drum, then putting the drum back into the copier. I've never had a copier keep the drum light on after doing this.

Let me know if you need more help.

Having trouble loading toner cartridge can't turn cartridge

Yes,there is a arm that have to slide left to close the upper body.If the toner is in place you can close it slowly, with your finger you can guide that arm in the correct position. It will work untill you can get a technician to fix that for you.The technician have to strip the controll panel and boad to get to that locking device.

An orange light blinking

you are absolutly right. It needs toner. That symbol is the universal symbol for toner. ( dont ask me how they came up with that but its true.)

The reason the copier runs on when you turn it off and on is because it thinks you may have added toner and is trying to auger toner out of the cartridge into the machine. After a time it gives up and assumes the cartridge is empty..

Wrinkling in fuser area

If there wasn't wrinkling before the guide was changed, check for alaingment of the guide and any minor obstructions. Also, check the condition of the fuser rollers especially the lower pressure roller. Check for wear and the clear sleeve "gathering up", (if applicable. Did you do anything to change the pressure of the roller?

Gray background, but copied text is visible

With toner being dropped I would take a close look at the cleaning unit next to the drum. Sometimes they become clogged or wear out. Inside the machine, can you see toner that has spilled or piled up? If so that is an indication of a faulty cleaning unit.

Blank Copies

The Unit where you've put the toner cartridge could be to far from the drum. Make sure your developer unit (unit where you've put the cartridge in) is locked in place.
