If you still have Music Manager 3.16, can I get a copy? iRiver no longer has it on their site so you had better make a few copies of it! My hard drive crashed and I lost mine and am having trouble finding a copy.

When you add it to your computer using "Add Hardware", your computer will source the drivers. If the correct one is not on your computer, it will, with your permission source the Net for it. Or you can do as I did, installed a freebie package of drivers, which, so far have covered all my needs.

This device has an AA battery that you must replace. Slide open the bottom red part, and swap the battery for a charged one.
You can use rechargeable batteries (available at any supermarket) and a battery charger (available at most supermarkets, otherwise look for it in electronics stores)
I don't think there is a possibility to recharge the device using the usb port.

Update the latest drivers and you should be ok.

First, you should have MP3 music files on your computer. If not, download what you like or "rip" from a CD using Media player or similar application.

Then simply connect your MP3 player to a USB port on your computer. It is very likely that if you remove a cover on the player it will expose a USB connection. Plug it into your USB port on your computer. It will automatically be recognized by Windows and you can see the contents. Navigate to the music on your computer, click to copy it and then paste it onto your MP3 player. Voila, it will be there to play!

Hi..

To erase the songs in your ipod there is two options:

1. First you can delete id directly from your ipod.
2. You can delete it using your computer, plug your ipod to your computer. Once your ipod detected you can open the songs folder. Simply right click and delete the songs.

I found an updated firmware file (Don't know where I got it) and once it was installed I could see and transfer music files from Windows Media Player 11 to my iriver ifp 790. You can email me at [email protected] if you would like me to send you the file.

I had the same problem. I got some electronic contact cleaner at Frys Electronics and sprayed a bit around the button, so that a little got inside. The button started working again instantly. If yu don't have contact cleaner you could first try a drop of denatured alcohol... I don't think it's as likely to work, but I also don't think it will hurt anything.
