Hello.
From FixYa Support:
While looking at the front of the P23-DH printing calculator. Fold down the
paper holder and turn the calculator back around to face you. Then, cut the paper
on the roll straight across. Then, feed the paper into the slot in the back of
the calculator. Turn the calculator on to the print mode. Then hit the "feed"

Can't figure out how to set date on this calulator
Below are the steps to assist you in
setting the Date and Time on your calculator.
NOTE: The "Time Set", "AM/PM", "12/24" and "Format" associated keys are
on the faceplate above the respective key. Position the calculator so
that you can look directly over the keypad to see the notations.
Setting the date:
1. Press the CALENDAR/CLOCK Key. The default date will appear.
2. Hold the TIME SET key down for 3 seconds or until you see the first
digit begin to blink in the display.
3. Input the correct date.
4. Firmly press and release the TIME SET key. The first digit should
stop blinking and the date is then set.
Setting the time:
1. Press the CALENDAR/CLOCK key. The default time will appear.
2. Hold the TIME SET key down for 3 seconds or until you see the first
digit begin to blink in the display.
NOTE: The seconds will disappear.
3. Input the correct time. If you need to adjust to AM or PM, press
the AM/PM accordingly.
4. Firmly press and release the TIME SET key. The first digit should
stop blinking and the time is then set. The seconds will again be
displayed.
Follow by pressing the CLEAR key to return to the calculator mode. To
return to either the TIME or DATE, press the CALENDAR/CLOCK key to
toggle between them.
Canon P23 -DH V calculator:
I was able to find the manual for the Canon P23 DH V calculator on
www.devicemanuals.com. I also saw a solution on your site to go to Canon and search for downloads. I tried that but was having trouble getting the actual download. Thank you for the service you offer.

I must not understand what a margin is so could
Hi,
I think you should refer to you definitions. The 20% is called the markup. The profit margin is calculated with respect to the revenue. So you should divide the 400$ by 2400$ to get a net profit margin of 400/2400 =0.1667 or 16.67% (And we are not taking into account the taxes).
Margin = Markup /(price + Markup)
Markup = Margin* (Price +Markup)
Markup = Margin*Markup + Margin* Price
Markup*(1-Margin) =Margin*Price
Markup = Margin*Price/( 1-Margin)
For Price =2000, Margin =0.2 (that is 20%)
Markup = 0.2*2000(1-0.8) =0.2*2000/0.8
Markup = 2000*(0.2/0.8)= 2000*0.25 = 500
Thus to have a (net) profit margin of 20%, an item costing 2000$ must be marked up by 500$.
Try not to reason with numbers. Write the defining relation and use algebra to isolate for the variable you seek.
Hope it helps.
Thank you for using Fixya and for rating this solution.
How do you subtract
Its a little strange. Suppose you want subtract 10 from 38. Do this:
Enter 38 press plus key.
Enter 10, press minus key.
Press the equal sign. You will have the result.
How do you load the paper?
Slide off the upper cover of the calculator, and cut across the paper roll to form a clean end.
If you are mounting the roll externally (outside of the back of the calculator), then look for a slot in the rear of the calculator, which will accept the paper. Feed the end of the paper through the rear slot, and then into the internal feed slot, and hold the [FEED] key. After that, you can flip the arm back to mount the roll and replace the upper cover.
If you want to place the roll inside of the calculator, then you need to feed from the bottom of the roll into the internal feed slot, and hold the [FEED] key. After you are finished, replace the upper cover.
