My JVC-SD5 lights up, plays Music, but the lid won't open, any suggestions?

It seems like you're facing a little hiccup with your JVC-SD5. There's some troubleshooting ideas... Firstly, make sure the CD player is powered off and unplugged from the electrical outlet. Safety first, right? Now, take a good look around the edges of the CD lid. Sometimes, dust or debris can accumulate and prevent it from opening smoothly. Grab a soft, lint-free cloth and gently wipe the edges of the lid. Make sure to remove any obstacles that might be blocking it. If that doesn't do the trick, let's try a little trick called the "manual release." Look for a small, pin-sized hole near the CD tray. It's usually located either on the front panel or underneath the CD player. Take a paperclip or a small, pointy object and insert it into that hole. Apply gentle pressure to trigger the manual release mechanism. This should pop open the lid, giving you access to your beloved CDs. Once the lid is open, inspect the CD tray and the surrounding area for any visible signs of damage or obstructions. If everything looks fine, try closing and reopening the lid a few times to see if it starts functioning properly. Sometimes, a little exercise can go a long way in resolving minor glitches. I hope these suggestions help you get your JVC-SD5 back in action and free you from that unwanted station! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask. Good luck!

How to wiring jvc kd-r690s?

To wire a JVC KD-R690S car stereo, you will need to connect the power, ground, and accessory wires to the appropriate terminals on the back of the unit.
  1. First, locate the power, ground, and accessory terminals on the back of the unit. These are usually labeled "Power," "Ground," and "ACC," respectively.
  2. Connect the positive power wire (usually red or yellow) to the "Power" terminal on the back of the unit.
  3. Connect the negative ground wire (usually black or brown) to the "Ground" terminal on the back of the unit.
  4. Connect the accessory wire (usually blue or blue/white) to the "ACC" terminal on the back of the unit.
  5. Make sure that all of the wires are securely connected to the appropriate terminals.
Keep in mind that the specific wire colors and terminal locations may vary depending on your vehicle and the specific model of the JVC KD-R690S car stereo. Room for speakers

Hello jarvis40,

You did not say exactly what improvements you want to make, what your budget is, nor if you are looking for a stealth install.

First I'd recommend that you look at what some other owners have done and see what you like. The MR2 Owners Club Forum would be one place to start. Many times you will find unbiased reviews of specific gear. There are installs documented with photos, and detailed step-by-step procedures. Generic car audio forums are also good. For comparing equipment and pricing, you simply cannot beat Crutchfield. The prices at Crutchfield are generally lower than you will find at your local audio dealer, but somewhat higher than other online stores. But they are excellent for doing research and if you do buy from them, you will find that the extra dollars paid buys you the absolute best service available.

If you're looking just to add an amp and a sub or two, and want a custom look instead of a "big ugly box", you might want to check out Concept Enclosures. He constructs custom boxes to fit specific places. Sort of like the JL Audio stealth box, or MTX Thunderforms, but less expensive. He has a design for the MR2.

And if you just want to change out your factory speakers, while you are browsing the Crutchfield site, check out the Focal speakers. The Utopia Be NO. 7 is simply the best 6.5 " 3-way component automotive speaker system in the world period. But if your budget won't stretch for the Focal's, consider the Alpine SPS-600C component system. They sound amazing.

Hope this helps.

Why is my display blinking on my JVC kdr 304 car stereo

Hi, Please restart the car stereo a few times in order to attempt to overcome the issue. If that fails, then we can restart the car as well. Otherwise, you can check the fuse within the fuse box next in order to see if it's damaged at all and replace it if necessary. Thank you.

What does SCM MEAN ON MY JVC CD PLAYER S590? ALSO WHAT DOES SS

Hi, scm might stand for skip-continuously-mode where songs play in no particular order. To be sure, we would need to look at the list of modes in your device's manual. These are where all acronyms are usually explained. Thank you.

Are you routing only 12volts to the radio, some tuner if it does not burn them up to high of voltage won't allow it to power up to keep from damage it
