Waveceptor reset
I have a number of these Casio and Citizen watches. This watch does not use GPS for the time keeping. It uses a land based broadcast time signal. There is public information about where the signals come from for your area. The technical breakdown of the time code signal is public access information.
The instruction manual of the watch has the information about when your watch should automatically receive the time signal, and how to set up the watch. Many of the manuals also included a map showing the time signal coverage, and includes the time of day information to show when the signal is strongest.
Make sure the watch settings are for your time zone. This is important. If the main time zone is not for your area it will be trying to receive the signal at the wrong frequency at the wrong time of day. There are areas where the signal may not be able to be received. You can get the mapping for this from the service that the watch has been set to use.
In North America the auto time receive is supposed to take place between midnight 00:00 to 04:00. In the eastern part of North America the reception is poor compared to central and western part of North America. Check the instruction manual for your watch for details.
Below is the spec listing of your watch.

My Casio Wave Ceptor 3054
My Wave Ceptor also reset to 01/01/05 four days ago. I've had it for more than a year and this is the first time it's happened. It hasn't reset with automatic updates and I can't get it to manually update.
12 hours ahead
I think you have the wrong time zone selected. Some zones are 30 min. off the rest. just in case
Instruction book page E-23. To turn auto receive on or off. In Timekeeping mode press D (Lower right) to display last Signal screen. It should say GET at the bottom and show the last time it updated. (Or ERR) Hold down A until the receiving indicator and current auto receive setting (ON or OFF) start to flash. Press D to toggle auto receive on. A again to end.
If you tried to make it receive manually this will be turned off. If the GET screen said ERR then it did not update and auto receive would still be off. I had to do the manual thing about 20 times before it updated. A upper left C lower left D lower right A upper right (light)

12 hours early
Try this:-
First set the watch to 24 hour format rather than 12 hour format.
Will not receive signal
If you are in the US or Canada the signal is coming from Fort-Collins, Colorado. If you are too far or there are atmospheric perturbations along the way, at the times the watch is in automatic receive , the watch may not receive a strong enough signal to synchronize itself with the atomic clock signal. The watch is not always able to do so.Read the manual where it is suggested that you put the watch on a window sill, the dial facing outward with 12 at the bottom. Do not move the watch when it is trying to receive a signal. If you have a signal strength meter, orient the watch so that the signal is as high as possible.
