Hello, I have no sound on JVC AV-56P575. When

I have had the same problem. It usually happens when changing from a non-HD channel to a HD. It has been doing since the purchase of the TV. Instead of going through the headache of a service call, I have been turning it off, wait a couple of minutes and then turn it back on. The sound returns and the issue will not repeat itself for at least a couple of weeks.

Sound goes out for certain programs or commercials

Check your tv's audio settings. If there is an "SAP" button on your remote try hitting that. It stands for secondary audio program. Most manufacturers put it near the corners of the remote leaving it prone to getting hit without knowing. Most shows are broadcast with a spanish version of the audio. Hitting that button should allow you to hear it, but some tv networks do not broadcast the SAP audio making it seem like there is no audio. It usually affects more than one channel, and commercials do not broadcast SAP either.

Rear Projectioncompletely dead after convergence chip replacement

If the blue power light does not come on you have total loss of power--check the fuses---Some other questions please?

Did you just remove the convergence board from the front of the set by itself?

Or did you pull the whole lightbox this set has out?

If you just removed the board--make sure you put the plug back from the board to the power supply board to the left (as you look from the front)

Whenever you have a new problem after you attempt a repair it is a good idea to go over what and how you did it---even with that board removed from the set (the convergence output board) the power light on the front must still come on.

Let me know--getting the convergence yoke plugs in the wrong place will not cause this--it will just make convergence terrible but the set will still come on.

That blue power light has to come on.....

Let me know what you find--I have the same set here I am fixing for someone who tried the convergence repair and somehow managed to cause a short in another area--a big mess.

I am in San Diego so allow for possible difference in time when you reply.

ICs + resistors swapped= blue power light auto on clicking noise

Unplug the power to the convergence board. If it turns on, you still have a problem in the convergence circuit.

Hdmi on jvc av56p575 any ideas

The first thing to do is try another HDMI source as the source you have now and the TV could possibly be incompatible. If still doesn't work with another device then try cleaning out the HDMI port on the TV because dust on the contacts can cause issues as well. If that all fails then the HDMI receiver on the main board is most likely bad. In that case it is much easier to use the component connections instead. Please take a moment to rate my answer, Thanks...

Blue screen then shuts down.

Hi.

If you get a faint blue picture, then two of the three CRTs (projection tubes) are not lighting up.

This may happen for different reasons:

1 The power board is defective.

A faulty power board that is not giving right value on higher voltage lines to CRT power board can cause the problem.
Power board must be tested at component level.

2 Two CRTs, or Two ballast boards have failed at the same time because of a wiring problem.

This is rather unlikely, but still possible, voltage to CRTs and Ballast must be tested before replacing power board.
The control board must also be tested, since ballasts are not directly connected to PSU.

The TV must be tested by a trained technician before eventually replacing the power board.

Here all parts for your model.

Here power board: SRP-9001A-M2-R.

If you want a quote on repair, then call the number listed on the owner manual.

Regards.

Do you hear a thumping coming from the speakers when the power switch is pressed? If so, you have a shorted video IC or your convergence ICs need replacing.

Color fine with rca jacks but when using hdmi/component its not

There may be a number of problems that are causing your HD issues. They may exist in your TV, or in the box you use to tune your channels. Contact your cable or satellite provider and ask them to change out your box. If the condition still surfaces, then you need to have your TV checked. The component and HDMI jacks are both connected to the same electronics. This is why they are exhibiting the same problem.

JVC A56P575

In the customer menu page thru it until you come to a page that has an item called convergence. move the cursor down to hightlight this and press enter. The next screen will have an Auto on the top line and a Manual of the second line. Hightlight the auto and press enter. The TV will attempt an automatic convergence alignment. BE WARNED>>>It will either correct it or make it worst. If it gets worst then the TV's convergence circuit has aged and is starting to fail. If it corrected it it's the same aging but not as bad, YET. If there is no change or it got worst then you will need to have the TV serviced preferbly by an authorized JVC service center because they have access to the service literature and buttetins.

Power issue, clicking noise, turns off

The clicking is the power on relay closing and opening. This happens because the TV has several built in safety systems that will detect and over voltage and over current load situation. The power supply starts up for an instant, senses and overload of either or both kinds and then the safety switches trigger a cutoff. When this happens the power supply will not start up again because another circuit called a latch keeps it disabled. By unplugging the AC cord and trying to start it again releases the latch until the failure triggers it again.
On these TVs the power supply is rarely the cause of the shutdown. Something further down inside the TV has failed. Replacing just the power supply will not fix the problem. The most common reason there would be an overload would be in the high voltage circuit that lights up the 3 CRTs, next would be the coils around the CRTs that bend the beams to make the picture. This is normal circuit aging and wearing out. Unless you are very skilled with trouble shooting TVs I would recommend having a service center look at it. An authorized JVC shop would be your best choice because they will have access to the manuals and bulletins and have probably had other similar JVC units thru their shops.
